...did she just hear what she thought she heard?
Runa stopped in her tracks, the action causing her to be pushed by several people on their way to the trains. She was jostled, shoved, nudged, and generally bullied by those in a rush, and yet their actions didn't bother her one bit. They had done nothing that could have compared to the news that she had just heard. Tears formed in her eyes again--she wasn't sure what to feel at all. Rage? No, that wasn't accurate enough. Disappointment? Maybe, but it was still lacking something. She couldn't put a word to her mix-mash of feelings at the moment, and she wasn't sure if talking to Shadow--which is what he suggested--was necessarily the right thing. Her tears wouldn't stop coming, and she knew that they weren't important. This wasn't important. Nothing that she had just heard, nothing that had just happened to her was important. She wanted to find her sister. She had been missing for almost a month now and although Runa could feel that the girl was alive in her bones, it would do Felicia no good for her to stay here, crying and useless as her sham of a boyfriend bitched and moaned about news that he should have told her already.
She pushed the small button on her watch, initializing the intercom system that Shadow had previously closed and re-opening their connection, looking up to the ceiling for the board listing train schedules.
"I will not talk to you about this. Not now. Not ever, until I am holding Felicia in my arms," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. Her tears made that impossible, but despite them she sounded very clear. Crisp. Cold. "I am getting on Train Five. It will arrive in Barcelona in three hours. I'm not turning back. If the train leaves without you, you won't be seeing me until I get back. I'm finding my sister whether you like it or not, and I'm not going to let you distract me with your stupid excuses!" The last statement was a bit much, but she had to let off some steam somehow. He had lied to her about everything, by omission. He hadn't told her about anything--about going through anything with Abbadon, let alone all of that other stuff that he'd just said about...being...gay. She couldn't even wrap her head around that one, and she wasn't going to try. Things were too complicated right now. She needed to focus. Her sister was the most important. Nothing else mattered.
She sighed, resuming her journey to the train. She paid for her ticket quickly, and she found platform number five, making her way to the second car on the train, flashing her ticket for the benefit of those looking for it. She hoped that she wouldn't be stuck in the same car as Shadow for the moment--she wasn't sure whether or not she would be able to actually face him. She didn't think she could.
