It was with a tentative expression on her face that Tomoyo opened the door to Yancha's clinic. She had heard about the place from Jiishita, and she was wondering whether or not he would--or could, because she didn't know how Mortal health systems worked--handle her pregnancy. She was pretty sure that the should have taken place some odd number of months ago, but she had not wanted to go do a doctors in Hell for some reason, and she figured that this one was as good as any.
She saw a nurse sitting at the front desk and she approached in a gentle way so as to not startle her or anything. She was clutching her belly, which was now protruding almost two inches from her body. "Is...Yancha in?" It had been a long time since she had remembered the conversation between herself and Jiishita that she no longer remembered his last name.
She hoped, however, that he was available, so that she could do something about the nagging sense in the back of her head. She supposed that having a child wasn't too complicated, but it would make sense to have some information about things first, so that she wouldn't be walking into the lion's den blind, so to speak.

[takes place a little before 'A soul worth keeping' after the vacation thread]
Yancha was sitting at his desk sifting through paperwork attempting to take his mind off of what had so recently happened to him. He wasn't going to let it stop his work, and he wasn't going to have it ruin his clinic. He was annoyed but he could do little about it until Migoto showed up and told him what was up on the whole soul theft thing. He was going to call his nurse to get him his afternoon tea that she had forgotten, Stupid little hooker doesn't even do what she's paid for., when she called in on the little intercom on the desk phone.
"Doctor Kawairashii, there's a woman here to see you. Would you like me to let her in?"
Yancha hissed and pushed the button to respond.
"Yes, bring her in"
He walked around his desk and leaned against the front of the large oak panneled desk. His wight coat and his long blond her trailing behind him. When the door opened he'd be losing his most recent failure of a nurse. It was a waste that he continued to hire them, why not just hire a cute male nurse for once. At least he ouls do his job and be a good bit of eye candy. The door opened and the Nurse let the woman in first.
"Ah..Cindy. Did you ask this fine lady if she had an appointment?"
"Well..no I"
"And where is my afternoon tea?"
"Well I was goin...
"Enough..I don't want to hear it. Your fired, leave. Your checks in the mail. Have a nice day"
"Please.. Doctor this is my first day an..
Yancha shot her the most vicious of looks, and without a moment of arguement more she rushed away in tears. All of his help knew better then to test him, he could end just about any medical career in this country. Hell, he attended to near all of the directors of all the major hospitals. He turned to the woman before he began to speak, though, the moment he looked at her and focused his attention to her he nearly fell over. He could sense magical potential after all, and she had the power of a god waiting in her body. He shook visably for a moment and blinked a few times as he fixed his glasses.
"Well.." he pauses a moment feeling faint, this would take a moment to get used to. He breathed in and composed himself.
"I'm sorry you had to see that. Good help i hard to find these days. I am Doctor Kawairashii Yancha. What can I do for you miss.."
He extended his right hand and hung the word as if to let her finish it with her name. It was strange how polite he was to the people that came to him for treatment. Though, he usually didn't have women younger then there late thirties in here. The ones that did come where either looking to work here or had married into a rich family. So, he wasn't really used to much more then greedy pigs and their gold digging whores.

Tomoyo hid a laugh as she listened to Yancha meet her in the hall nearest the reception desk, and question the nurse. The nurse seemed rather slow, in any case, and while Tomoyo wasn't familiar with Mortal medical procedure or customer service in general it was clear to her that this woman deserved to be fired--but she had never seen anyone lose their job in quite that amount of dramatic display, nor on the their first day of work.
He took a breath before reaching out with his hand, and Tomoyo, one hand still on her belly, reached forward to take it. Usually, she would change into the most desirable form to flatter her host and/guest, but it was clear that she could not longer change form without injuring the baby...
She ended up taking his hand and bowing slightly, as she would have if she had been in male form, but with the seductive smile she would use in the form that she was in at the moment.
"I am Sanada Tomoyo." Then she suddenly decided that she didn't mind him knowing who she was. "The King of Hell. And I'm pregnant..."

His mood was foul now because of the drama with the nurse but he was over it for the most part. He was happy to see the strange woman's manners were at least intact. He was getting tired of haughty little gold diggers running amuck in his clinic. He would not deal with that kind of thing today. He bowed slightly in return to hers and put his hands in his lab coat pockets. She was an interesting rich chick indeed. Manners and a nice smile wasn't too common in his last year.
She introduced herself as Sanada and he wasn't to sure he knew that name. He shrugged thinking that maybe she was from out of town. Then she mentioned being the king of hell, he looked at her awkwardly. She was pregnant though, so he would handle whatever she wanted medically, then refer her to a shrink. He had been introduced to a few interesting characters from celestial type backgrounds, but she was just a woman. No King had ever been female, and Yancha figured she was delusional. In any case, as long as she could pay the bill he didn't really care.
"Well, I guess that means you'll be wanting to check up on your baby then Mrs. Sanada? I'm sure you know that this is a rather expensive clinic, I only treat you once you've assured me that you can pay for it. Not to be rude, it's just that your family name doesn't ring a bell."
Before anything else he would get money out of the way, he wasn't going to have to deal with debts. He wanted hi money first.

So he wanted money. Tomoyo's smile only grew brighter. "Yes, of course." It was fitting that he wanted compensation for his services. She had heard that he was a vain, fiesty little bastard. But despite this, he had helped Chikara and Takaishii without a second thought--for money or anything else. And he would be amply rewarded.
As a Celestial, however, she had no conception of Human currency. For the small things, sure, she knew the cost--like for a cup of coffee, a bottle of water, certain food items, et cetera. But because she had never had need for more expensive things--like medical care--so she had no need to know how much it cost.
There seemed to be a look on his face that told Tomoyo she didn't really rub him the right way. She had hoped that her courteous nature would have dulled the fact that she was the King of Demons--but alas, such a fact seemed to not be true.
"I'm not really familiar with Human money..." she said, shifting in place. She was wearing a coat, a warm, fur coat to keep the baby warm, and she took her hand off of her belly for just a moment to reach inside, pulling out a stack of one hundred dollar bills. "...so, you'll have to tell me when I've given you enough. And trust me, I'll know if you're lying. A friend of mine, Takaishii Jiishita, and his wife Yamazaki Chikara referred me to you some weeks ago. I'm sure that you remember them. You were good to them, and you helped them in their time of need without greed or selfish nature." While she was speaking, she was steadily pulling out fresh wads of one hundred dollar bills from her coat, as though they were from a replenishable source.
"Because you did this for my friends, I will ask you to name your price--please, so that I don't have to worry about dealing with your kind's money further--include everything that I will owe you myself for return visits and up until birth and aftercare treatment; also include whatever costs you would have normally given to Jiishita and Chikara. I will pay for both upfront." Now, there were maybe twenty stacks of hundred bills on the table. "Let me know when its enough..."

Yancha was naturally stunned when the woman smiled after hearing of expenses. He had thought she wasn't a money maniac, yet she seemed to like the ability to flaunt her wealth. He shook his head for that moment thinking she was the stupider of the wealthy pig types until for a second. She said that she was unfamiliar with human currency, that was the best way to get yourself cheated. The next was to begin pulling wads of crisp cash out without hesitation. Yancha stopped shaking his head and watched the money pile up. He was sure he knew the two she was talking about. Oh, yes the two angel types.
Then he realized the extent of her wealth, the piles of hundred dollar bills were all in U.S. currency. The problem was that she was pulling them from nowhere. He waited for a second as she pulled out the first dozen stacks and then became sure it wasn't real. She asked to pay for the whole of his treatment up front, as well as the expense of Jiishita and Chikara's treatment. His bill would reach a good $236,700 for that much, the damage the half dead angels had repaired alone would cost a hell of a lot.
"You can stop pulling out money now. You probably could have stopped before you started. Monetary compensation is what I require from those with nothing more to give. I'm sure that you have more to give then money. Aside from that, your getting that money from pockets that can't possibly hold that much. And from what I know about magic, you can't have possible conjured all of that from across the Earth. There is also the fact that from my knowledge of your kind, you people don't associate with the mortal race enough to own bank accounts. Also, I find it improbable that you'd have done enough in this realm to have earned that much money. I'm sure your intentions are good, but I'd rather not be charged with theft, money laundering, counterfeiting or any other federal crime, especially not one involving the U.S.. We'll just say you owe me a favor and you can leave me a way to contact you. I find the old ways of exchanging services about as useful as payed labor don't you?"
And with that Yancha looked back at the money already on the table. If it was real he'd offer to return it to her or whatever, if not he'd burn it. Either way he would lead her to the back room.
"Now that that's settled, would you follow me? And try to mask as much of your magical energy as possible if you can, my operating room draws sufficient energy from pathetic mortals. As such, it goes hay wire when people with the power you hold come here.

He seemed to not want money, which was a surprise for Tomoyo. How else did he make his livelihood in this world?
Ah. He didn't believe that it was real. Of course.
"I'll assure you that this money is solid, tangible and real. There is more than one way to convert my own wealth to U.S. currency, I tell. I at the very least insist that you keep whatever it is that I've pulled out already. Jiishita and Chikara live here in this Realm, but they have no abounding funds to speak of and so this is to compensate for them, who indeed have nothing else to give. To give you further insurance, if this money disappears in any way, shape, or form, then I owe you yet another favor, all right. I swear this to you as the King of Hell. "
She began to follow him into the back room, suppressing her aura as much as possible as she entered it after the doctor.
"As for the favor I owe you for my own visits, you may have whatever it is in my power to give you or aid you with," she said with ease. Her child was the most important thing to her right now, and she would do anything to ensure that things go as smoothly as possible.

"Forgive me if I'm a bit untrusting, I really do have my reasons."
He really wasn't kidding, the deal with Arashi had truly sent him into a bit of hurt. He had trusted and loved Arashi, it made no sense that he lose so much for loving someone. Though it wasn't really important here, he would simply check the development of the baby and be done with this. The doors opened to greet the doctor as the headed into his operating room. The white haze on the floor swirled around them as they moved in. He noticed that it was quite a bit thicker even if she suppressed her power. He would have to figure out a way to better control this room's abilities due to the number of beings coming in here. Jiishita and Chikara had been weakened when they entered so it hadn't been affected by them, but this woman was apparently quite the powerhouse.
"Please remove your top and lay on the table. I'll need to have a look at what's going on inside you. How far along are you now?"
Yancha motioned for them larger table in the center of the room. There were three other tables in at triangle points around the first. He walked to the shelf on the wall that was covered in white vials. The entire room was white, save a few runic symbols of red diamond in the walls that glowed a bloody red. The floor had the same type of runes carved in it but they glowed a faint white. The soothing haze was usually a thin mist but as it fed on the excess energy of the rooms occupants in order to heal them it was thicker. Yancha repressed his energy a bit in order to thin out the mist so he wouldn't be distracted.
Yancha took a vial off of the shelf and pulled his stool over to the table he'd motioned to and sat ready to begin.

Tomoyo looked around the room in awe. She had never seen anything like it in all of her many years of existence. It fascinated her.
"Wow. Is this where you took care of Chikara and Jiishita?"
However, as she was speaking she did as she was bid; she had never been shy about her body, and at the moment she wasn't feeling an mood swings that would cause her to be.
"I'm at about six months, by my count." Even laying herself down on the table, she unconsciously put her hand over her stomach.

His eyes found her face and he was pleased that she was so amazed. He had took a lot of time in developing the enchantment on this room and he really liked it to be praised. He made the mist of water as it was his element but he had enchanted it heavily with healing spells until it came out like this. He had made a lot of mistakes on his way to completing it though, one of them being that he created a dark miasma with the exact opposite ability. He smiled seeing that she was in awe of his work and his ego soared a loop before he settle back to the matter at hand.
"Yes, this is where they were cared for. The mist here had a healing property that is very useful in taking care of patients. It should even help you relax if your feeling uptight."
He smiled and placed his finger on the top of the vial he'd taken from the shelf and turned the vial for a moment so that the fluid inside left a little on his finger. He then moved to trace a circle around her naval.
"Make sure not to touch the circle please.. Since your so far along the baby should be mostly developed by now. The image should be of a physically complete child. On the surface at least."
He set the bottle on the floor after he drew a second circle around the area that the uterus would cover. When the bottle was placed on the floor, the rune beneath it glowed a bit more brightly and the rest of the fluid rose into the air and formed a circle . The blurred image of the fetus appeared in the fluid as if on a projector.
"Take a look at your child."
The screen tilted lightly as he moved his hand, making it visible to Tomo as she layed on the table.
"Be careful not to move your body, the circle may shift. So far it seems that your child has developed normally. The picture being blurred means that the spell is being affected by the child. Normally this doesn't happen but all things considered, I'm sure you'd expect that your child has the power to overstimulate such a projection spell."
Though, Yancha himself was only more interested in the child. He couldn't wait to see the child after birth. He would surely need to test this child, as well as the mother...

He put some sort of liquid on his finger from a vile. And in the minute that it took him to take steps before her to place that finger on her belly she cast so many poison detection spells that even she would have thought it impossible. However, the liquid seemed to have no malicious property, and Tomoyo shivered when he touched her--the liquid was very cold on her belly.
"Make sure not to touch the circle please..." he said. "Since you're so far along the baby should be mostly developed by now. The image should be of a physically complete child. On the surface at least."
Then he sat the bottle down, and an image appeared from it.
"Take a look at your child."
Tomoyo tried to lean up a bit, so that she would be able to see the picture, but he tilted accordingly.
Her mouth hung open for at least five minutes, she could say. There was nothing that she could have said to give her a grasp on this moment.
There was a little form in her stomach, and it looked so...frail, so precious. Like if she got up from the table she would break it. There was something about it that just seemed so...special. It was moving a little, too. The easiest thing to make out was its head, big and round in contrast to the rest of its head.
"It's...It's..." Tomoyo said, reaching out as though to touch the image. There were tears in her eyes. "Oh, I wish that Ren was here..." she looked at Yancha. "Thank you so much..."

Yancha considered the moment rather overdramatic, but as long as the customer was satisfied he'd get his payment. The baby was relatively sweet, an alien like all the rest. He had yet to actually think of a reason she would cry, maybe she had trouble having children before? In any case the idea was to give her a visual and then check to make sure everything else was on schedule. Not to mention he had a few things to ask.
"Okay, I'll leave the projection up for you, but I'll need you to sit on the edge of the table for me okay Hun?"
He played the role of caring doctor as always. It was the best way to go. Most patients found it to make them feel more at ease this way, even if they knew his real personality already.
"I'm going to check your pulse and blood pressure okay?"
He pulled the sphygmomanometer from under the table and wrapped it around her arm. He put his stethoscope at the bottom of the cuff and inflated the sphygmomanometer. After letting out the air pressure he pulled a clipboard from under the table and wrote daown a few things. He had to make sure he kept a proper record of his patients after all.
"Your blood pressure is 126 over 84. Very good actually. You seem to be glowing if I might add."
He offered a compliment, it was all a lie though, most women along in the pregnancy looked to be glowing. The hair seems to become more luxurious and full, as well as the increase in breast size. Then the fact that many women are so happy to be with child that they glow anyway. He walked over to the shelf again and brought back two white vials and one clear one. He set them on the table next to her.
"I'll need to take a blood sample as well as test your blood now. I want to know if you have any reason not to allow this."

"Okay, I'll leave the projection up for you, but I'll need you to sit on the edge of the table for me okay Hun?"
Tomoyo was still smiling at the image. "Is there some way I can save this picture?" she asked. "This is my first child..." she didn't want to divulge the details of her other children, so she didn't. It was much too complicated for most Celestials to understand, let alone a Human.
He strapped a strange device to her arm, which eventually put a lot of pressure on it, but she allowed him to do so. He said that he was taking her blood pressure, and she gave him a quizzical look. She wasn't sure what that was, but she said nothing as the doctor spoke as though such a thing was normal.
"Your blood pressure is 126 over 84. Very good actually. You seem to be glowing if I might add."
She smiled more brightly at him for the compliment. But she knew that Chiyo had been glowing when she had the twins, too, so it wasn't just because of her natural looks.
"I'll need to take a blood sample as well as test your blood now. I want to know if you have any reason not to allow this."
"No," she said, and she briefly thought of Arashi. She doubted that he would give a blood sample to anyone, and the thought made her laugh. "There shouldn't be anything out of the ordinary with my blood...if you even know how to treat Celestial blood..."

At her response he mistakenly grinned. Celestial blood was his truest fascination. He'd learned that Arashi and the two he'd helped before both had like properties in the blood. Only, Arashi had a special property that Yancha couldn't quite explain. It was as if his magical energy had overrun his genetic makeup. Though, he couldn't hide his excitement at the sample he might be able to keep from this woman. She was a pregnant Celestial of obvious power, he wanted to learn all he could from her blood.
"I'm sure your fine, this is merely a formality in any case. And if you'd like I'll imprint the image in the oil and put it in a vial for you."
He opened the vial closest to her and a clear fluid came up from it and rested above his outstretched hand. He touched his finger to her forearm and the fluid seeped into her pores. He traced his finger up her arm and to her chest in the area of her heart then up to the side of her neck. When he pulled his finger away the liquid had a few specks in it. He opened his hand and the fluid stretched out thinly in from of him and he looked at it closely.
"Your blood cells are normal for a celestial. There is no sign of lacking red blood cells or an abundance of proteins. And your hormone levels are fine given your with child."
He pointed to the vial and the fluid returned, he then opened the second vial and a second clear liquid appeared. He pressed his finger to her lower body in the area of the bladder and made a small circle. Then he pulled his finger away and repeated what he did the last time and put the fluid away the same way.
"Your urine is fine, nothing abnormal. I think your in fine shape. I'll take a blood sample to test further and make sure there are no abnormalities I couldn't detect on the surface inspection"
The last vial was empty, instead he took off the top and pressed it to her arm and tapped the bottom twice. You could see what was happening inside the bottle, the blood was being gently pulled from a small abrasion caused by the rim of the bottle and up into the bottle. There had been barely a nick and the blood flowed easily. The vial was filled quickly and when he pulled the bottle away the small cut healed itself automatically.
"That should cover everything for this visit in the way of practical medicine. If you don't mind I would like you to come to my office to ask a few questions concerning your pregnancy and personal health. I will also need you to answer a few questions about your birthing plan and give any information you would want of me."
He was an innate professional if he had to say so. He was proud of his manners, even if he cared nothing about his patient.

Now that she had thought about it, she wasn't sure if allowing this Human to keep her blood was such a good idea. But when he told her that there was nothing wrong with it, she supposed that she would let him keep whatever he took...for now.
She had to say that she admired his prowess in healing magic. She really would be recommending him to everyone that she knew...
"Sure, I'll go to your office..." she quickly donned her shirt, and began to slowly make her way off of the table. "Thank you for the check up. I appreciate it..."

Yancha took up the three vials and set them on a separate shelf in the room. He turned and walked out of the room, holding the door for Tomo as he went.
"It's my pleasure really."
Yancha lied at this point. He really didn't see the point in her thanking him, he knew well that he was only offering an exchange of service. To him this was merely a way to gain information and influence. In his mind he had no reason to feel appreciated. Though, he did find pleasure in the outcome of the check-up. From the three samples he took he would be able to determine a few things about the celestial species. Beings of such innate magical strength must have some great things to learn from. After all, the treatment he'd just administered had been created by Yancha in his attempt to better understand poor Arashi. Sometimes Yancha would mistakenly drain energy from the boy instead of particles of proteins and fat.
Making his short walk to his office he stopped holding the door. He had taken her coat out of respect to her state and to give the appearance of a caring practitioner. He was in fact merely curious as to how much she could really do to pay her debt to him. His request would be greatly effected by this. He had no idea what kind of female Tomo was, and she seemed to be merely a conceited rich woman of supernatural origin. So far that was all he knew.
"After you please. Feel free to sit wherever you like. After all, your being comfortable is what's important."
It wasn't entirely a lie. He was taking into consideration that comfort made people pay more. So in a way her comfort was important. Not to Yancha personally, but to his business and his reputation it was important. It really was strange that a cynical man like Yancha become a doctor, if it wasn't for his falsified appearance, many would fear his service.

"I appreciate your...consideration, but honestly, I would prefer that we could end this check-up with you being...you know, somewhat honest? I think that's rather important if I'm going to make you my doctor..." While being grateful for his services, she couldn't quite help but notice his rapidly decreasing honesty in terms of his words. At this point, almost everything about her visit was facade, other than her own kindness. Tomoyo actually liked Humans, and she had no reason to be disrespectful to one who hadn't done anything but help her and her child.
"I told you when you came through the door that you were dealing with a King of Hell. The King of Hell I might add. The head honcho, as you would say." Her voice took on a malicious but seductive tone, a tone of voice she hadn't had to use for months because of her condition. She had been at home a lot, and there wasn't too much to interact with there, what with Ren wallowing in self pity.
"I appreciate your services, and I am willing to make it worth while, but...I have to tell you, you lying to me is rather...ah, discouraging. And I have no problem breaking a promise to someone who does not deserve it. I could very well pay you for Chikara and Jiishita's treatment and be upon my way. But I don't really want that, so I would prefer you just be honest. There is really nothing you can say to hurt my feelings that I haven't been called by someone bigger and badder than you..."
Tomoyo could feel the inner urgings of a mood swing coming on. She tried to hold it back to keep her tongue in check...
"What was it that you wanted to ask me...?"

He paused almost pulled the 'whatever do you mean' line, but he decided he'd rather not. Holding appearances was annoying enough when you weren't seen through. Now he truly did want her to be comfortable, it'd been a while since he was called an actor when he was acting. He was rather pleased.
"I like you."
He smirked and strolled into the room sitting behind his desk and taking out the clipboard he'd been writing on in the other room. He flipped to a fresh sheet and set it on the desk.
"I'm used to holding appearances, the rest of the rich bastards that come in here don't like informality. But, since you caught me there's no point. Take a seat then."
His tranquil and caring demeanor thrown away he acted fully as if he was working. He seemed merely to need to get things done now, his patients care was never a worry to him in the first place. He'd never lost a patient he worked on as of yet, so he had no reason for all the tender glances and touches.
"Here's the run down. I need you to cut off stressful activity. If you smoke, stop, same goes for drinking. Your health thus far is fine so it's likely that whatever you've been doing is working fine. If you experience any abnormal pains or early contractions then come see me. If there is any vaginal bleeding then you'll need to see me."
He ran of exactly what was needed without the mollycoddling and it made the whole thing mush faster.
"Now. The things you should start working on now. You should start taking lamaze classes. You should decide if you'll want pain killers of magical assistance. If you want to take any meds to speed the pregnancy along you'll have to tell me. If you want to circumcise your child. All those things should be decided around now so you don't make last minute decisions while your on drugs or in pain, neither is good for decision making. You'll have to make your invitations, gather your support pool for when your in labor. It's wise to decide who your kicking in the balls and who your cussing out for saying it wasn't so bad. "
He slipped a joke off hand not knowing if she'd catch it. He wasn't in all too good a mood anyway, and she had just taken he reason to be nice. So now he was plain old Yancha. He sat there calmly and decided he'd better be fully fair.
"And with the blood sample I planned to further my understanding of your kind. That sexy dish and his wife came in here leaking and I swept there blood into vials too. I really don't require much payment if you can possibly further my research. As far as I can tell from the sample's I've seen there are a few different variations in the blood, similar to race difference. Though, I must say it's a much more distinct difference. If you want honesty that's what I've got."
He was better off telling and getting it out of the way and have a chance at assistance then remaining secretive. Either way he'd stored the samples safely.

That was something that she hadn't expected to hear from him after what she had told him. However, she supposed that it was a good thing. She could tell that he meant it, too, despite the seemingly deep crack in his mask. He had taken it off and Tomoyo honestly felt more comfortable with him that way.
"I'm used to holding appearances, the rest of the rich bastards that come in here don't like informality. But, since you caught me there's no point. Take a seat then."
This actually amused her. She didn't really think of herself as rich, although she supposed that all of the Human treasure that she had held over the years would have made her that way. So, she decided to accept the insult and said nothing about it.
His next few statements were about the information that she should know about being a mother. Tomoyo listened attentively; Chiyo had never talked to her about any of this when she was bearing her children, so she would take care to tell Ren about this process.
"Here's the run down. I need you to cut off stressful activity. If you smoke, stop, same goes for drinking."
"Damn," she said. "I do drink, but I haven't been drinking any since I've gotten pregnant. The mother of my twins had to stop drinking when she was pregnant, too, so I figure it was the same with all pregnancies..." She was so consumed in the idea of going three more months without liquor that Tomoyo hadn't thought about the things that she had just said. However, she listened to his other comments.
"Your health thus far is fine so it's likely that whatever you've been doing is working fine. If you experience any abnormal pains or early contractions then come see me. If there is any vaginal bleeding then you'll need to see me."
Tomoyo stuck out her tongue. "I have to worry about all of those Mortal things? Ew. Suzaku, damn it all to hell...I suppose that I'll have to come and see you, then...I didn't know that there was the possibility of early contractions...those things hurt. I would rather not deal with those..."
She had to admit that things were going much more smoothly without the sugar coating that she had been given so far. She had liked it in the beginning, though, simply because this was the first baby that she had ever carried and she was happy to be spoiled a little...
Then the doctor kept talking. There was more? "Now. The things you should start working on now. You should start taking lamaze classes."
"What the hell are lamaze classes?" she asked. "Another Mortal Realm thing?"
"You should decide if you'll want pain killers of magical assistance. If you want to take any meds to speed the pregnancy along you'll have to tell me."
"Yes, I want this to go as quickly as possible, and painless--but I'll wait to see if the contractions are bad enough before I decide on drugs, I think...can I do that? Or do I have to decide now?"
"If you want to circumcise your child. "
She chuckled. "I know exactly who will be there and I know exactly whose balls will be clenched in my hand, believe you me...and yes I want my child circumcized. I thought you Humans already did that automatically after the Catholics took over Europe..." her Human history was a little fuzzy, though, so she could have been wrong--she would leave it to him to correct her if he cared.
She waved off the comments about the blood samples. "For the moment that doesn't concern me. Believe me, you'll know when it does. I promise you will. Just take good care of the samples..."

He heard her speak of drinking but never really payed much mind. He still figured she was out of her loop in any case. Then her mention of mortal things. In truth Yancha didn't want to admit it but he knew nothing of the celestial reproductive process. As far as he'd seen it all works about the same. He was sure the same pain would be there, as well as the same process of lessening. Then she said she wanted it all to go as fast as possible, which was reasonable. The painless part wasn't all too possible, however they could get close.
"I'm sure you'll be fine without labor lamaze classes actually. My magic should ease the process, though I'm not sure mortal medicine will work so well. I'll be sure to mix a few vials just for you. I've never developed a celestial baby, even though we're made up basically the same it's still an event. Trust me when I say I'm in no Poisson to miss opportunity."
His voice touched on sadness momentarily as he said this last bit. He had no idea when his soul would be forfeit, or if it was going to be lost. He shook the thought away.
"That's really all we have to discuss honestly. Without all the uselessness this isn't so hard. I don't think you'll have to bother coming up here for another month or two. Oh... and I would offer you a prescription of pills to ease your ailments if you need it. Like morning sickness or soreness. I'm sure your breasts are killing you about now..."
