[A Heart of Darkness Thread]
Maggie walked slowly toward her black leather computer chair that sat still near her silver metal desk, a can of Mountain Dew in her left and her glasses in her right. Her light purple hair, which was always down, was now wrapped up in a short ponytail. Wearing only a button up tee-shirt and underwear, she was ready to do this thing.
For the last 12 weeks and a half, she held a can of Mountain dew in her left, her glasses in her right, her hair in a short ponytail in the same position with the same hair holder--a butterfly with the letters M on the right wing and U in the other, a gift from her mother--that was either in the left or right, depending on her mood, this time on the right. It was in these 12 and half weeks that Maggie would sit in her chair and stare at her Dell Laptop with the wallpaper of her Mom, her Dad, and herself all smiling at the camera. it was also in this 12 and a half week that she had tried, unsuccessfully, to type her parents an email of how she was doing.
It wasn't because she didn't wanted to, no, it was far from it. She had made a point to send postcards to them when she was out sightseeing the world and trying to figure out what to do in this world---she,their only child, knew better than that.
It wasn't that she couldn't send the letters. Shadow Akuma let everyone know that they could come and go as they pleased and could write letters and send emails to families and friends, just as long as you tell them nothing about the Devil Saints, unless they knew it already. It was either that or cut all ties with family and call the Devil Saints your new one. Keeping the secret that you worked for a group of people that do things that normal people could not understand, or too afraid to try to understand, could be bad PR for the Devil Saints.
No, it was not all of that. it was the fact that she did not know where to start or how to lie them. It was the first time she had to lie to them...well the second time she had to lie to them. She had to lie that she worked for tempt agency, which in a way wasn't a complete lie.
With her eyes lowering down to the keyboard, she sighed and began typing out her words of all the things that she had been doing...sort of.
Dear Mum and Daddy, she typed as she looked at the screen once more and sighed deeply, I would like to first start off by saying that I am sorry for not contacting you in anyway for the last 2 years or so. I will make a point to email you more often in the passing months when ever I get a chance. Promise.
Anyway, I will have know that I took the employment Exam just two days ago and from the help of Sara, my boss, I think I may have pass it and get a raise and a promotion! ^^
Other than that, my job has been going good and I made some new friends. Including this new manager named Abbadon. He's kinda cute mum, if I can work up the nerve, I could ask him out soon. That is if I work up the nerve...
Which reminds me, do you know of a man name Markus B, mum? He apparently owns part of the tempt place and he came by looking for my other Boss, Mr. Akuma. Oh, and another thing, could you send some of your homemade brownies here? They always made me feel better whenever I got hurt. Don't worry, i am not hurt my self, it's Mr. Akuma and that new guy. They got hurt by some jack-off. Also, could you send me some of Walt's doggie treats as well. The new guy has a dog and I don't think we have any dog food.
Oh, yeah, before I forget, I got my bosses to test out my new bike. Well, not the bosses but the new guy...maybe I do like him?
Anyway, I made him a new coat, that I'm sure he will like. He seemed to like the fact that I was able to program his voice into the new door system when I first let him in.
So, I guess I can only say good-bye for now. I love you both, make sure to write soon.
Maggie.
P.S. Daddy, please try not to eat the brownies this time.
