Here is a rough draft of the Dragon history, something I'm sad to say, a year late in writing.
A.N.; The weird writing in the first paragraph is intentional-

“It was nothingness incarnate. A realm of hues far beyond the deepest black, blinding any eyes if they graced its image. Expansive and endless, it stretched on forever, it’s only inhabitants were silence, and nothingness. Then, in a manner that seemed too coincidental to be providence, yet too inadvertent to be accidental, it became flooded with them, they being energy and all forms, filling and swelling the nothingness until it became them, and they were the rulers of the emptiness. During this new and turbulent period, the cohabitation between these vast and many energies, a combination of factors led to their gathering, the enormity of the expanse denoting that infinity was to your rear and side if they stood alone, say they combined into one. One mass, one form, one existence, they comprised the entirety of all that was everything in the nothingness. In unison they amalgamated, and as if a eye’s first sight were the wonders of a kaleidoscope, and an ear’s first perceived sound was the combined utterance of all noise to have ever occurred, a nubile and supple finger touching a substance that felt hot, cold, soft, hard, painful, and pleasurable all at once, the smell of the aromatic blend of creation entering nasal passages in a first breath, they formed the experience that was our first thoughts. It was then that it was no longer them, and they became myself, and I called ourselves Daigon, and we expanded to construct our Realm, the Umbra.”
These were the first thoughts of the deity Daigon, patriarch of the Dragon race and architect of the Umbra. The postulate of being connected to his realm by his very existence, led him to create the manifestations know as the Shapers, the first true generations of Dragons, in order to help him in creating the realm. By creation of the realm, the dragons purpose were to spread the various different aspects of the spirit Daigon, something he could have done himself but his desire to recognized the combined energies of himself, referring to himself in the first and third in reverence to him being the singularity that achieved consciousness after the initial combination of latent energies in the void by Shijin.
These Shapers went on to number nine in totals, and within each was the same drive and will to continue the expanse and propagation of their unique kind. Imbued with a portion of the energies of the realm, the nine Shapers went on to form and shape the Umbra in a myriad of ways, each echoing and mirroring something seen, heard, felt, tasted, and though about yet experienced elsewhere, leftover form the pooled energies of the living beings in the adjacent universe.
After their work was completed, they were called to return to their source, and in a gesture that was to be repeated later, the Shapers propagated 17 offspring, the second generation of Dragons known as the Bestial Dragons, each with its own corresponding elemental representative, taking one aspect each from their parents before their assimilation back into the source. Smiling upon the new generation, Daigon imbued them with the free will, to live and create in their own image, independent of his direct influence, their connection to him through the flux that comprised their existence all the deity required of them.
Independent of these elements, the aspects that Daigon retained were Time, and the three tenses of the said element, Past, Present, and Future, which he would control directly without interference, allowing the entirety of the Mythical realm to remain ageless and unchanging due to the linear passage of events. It would be soon after this that the beings inadvertently responsible for the Umbra’s creation would grace the realm with their presence, requiring the aid of the magically imbued Dragons.
