[This narrative takes place immediately after "Men of Honor," and six hours prior to "(Not So) Ordinary People"]
Oracle stood on the outskirts of the Tenmeigakure village, using his void magic to make him invisible to the mortal's eyes. He hovered three inches off of the ground, carrying his staff in both of his hands. He could only smile at the display of the ninja village.
Everything was just as it was displayed to him by Kensei. Every building and every home was exactly as it was displayed to him moments earlier. However, there was one specific thing that Kensei's hologram did not show. And that was where Tsurugi's quarters were. But he secretly thanked Kensei for not revealing that location to him.
Besides; the thrill of the hunt is the best thrill there is.
Still cloaked in invisibility by his void magic, Oracle hovered around the village. He phased through every building and passed whenever he realized that Tsurugi was not inside them like the spirit of death haunted the first born of Egypt. However, after a while of searching, Oracle appeared in a building he saw house a giant sword that looked mildly familiar to the Malakite. He smirked at the sight.
Finally, he was here.
Making himself visible yet continuing to hover, Oracle roamed around the house. He looked through every room he could find within the house, until he saw a slumbering Tsurugi lying on a pallet before him. He stood over Tsurugi, and went into a guise that he would necessarily find more recognizable so that he would not frighten him if he just so happened to hear the fairy tales the mortals here told of him. And now once again as Markus Bleache', it was time to wake the dead man.
"Hello, Tsurugi," he said.
He watched Tsurugi open his eyes in response to Oracle's words, only to act surprised at Markus Bleache's sudden appearance to his quarters. Oracle could only smile. But he made sure that before Tsurugi had the opportunity to do anything, that Oracle sent a sufficient amount of Void magic to keep him pinned to the pallet and to keep his mouth from alerting any possible intruders.
Not like it mattered...
"You know," Oracle started, "during our meeting yesterday, you left me at quite a standstill. You knew everything about my empire, yet I knew nothing about you." He smirked at him. "Fortunately for me, I just so happened to run across someone who did. And he was very helpful."
Oracle could see the hatred in Tsurugi's eyes; to be completely helpless and at the mercy of your enemy must be the worst feeling of all. So he heard.
"Well," Oracle continued. "You revealed this grand secret of the Tenmeigakure to me and my empire. And now that I know exactly what you and your people are capable of -- now that the battlefield is fair -- I believe that I should reveal a little secret about myself."
Oracle watched as Tsurugi's face started to form a confused look. And after seeing that the leader of this village was able to make other facial expressions other than that of a stonehenge, he decided to keep his end of the bargain.
In a gray glow, the guise of Markus Bleache' disappeared. Once the glow subsided, Oracle's true form and attire presented itself. The look on Tsurugi's face was priceless. His eyes widened in fear. And even though his mouth was muzzled with void magic, you could hear him yell his name in horror. Oracle grinned evilly.
"Do not worry, Tsurugi," he said to him. "You did not make a deal with the devil." He chuckled. "I'm a Malakite, you see. And I will keep true to my word that my empire will aid in the growth of your village."
He raised his free hand.
"However," he continued as that free hand started to glow gray with void magic, "I'm going to have to take back what I said about treachery. Because as long as your alive, the Tenmeigakure can't grow the way I wanted to." He cocked his head. "You understand, right?"
As Oracle brought his glowing hand closer to Tsurugi's head, he could hear him pant in fear. You have no idea how... enticed this made our menacing Malakite.
Well, maybe now you do...
"It's nothing personal, Tsurugi," Oracle said. "It's just business."
He licked his lips.
"And I despise having business partners."
With that said, Oracle sent his voided hand through Tsurugi's skull, using the void magic engulfed in his hand to efficiently destroy the mortal's mind. He cold hear his muffled screams in pain and horror of the situation. But that only amplified Oracle's own pleasure of the kill. And once he was done, the once ruler of the village of the dawn lay lifeless on his pallet.
Oracle immediately retreated his hand from the dead Tsurugi's skull after assuring that he was indeed done for. Walking out of the house, Oracle's voided hand raised itself in the night air; sending the same amount of magic into the minds of the elders of the village.
<Your ruler is dead,> he told them through astro-projection. <I now rule this village, and you shall do as I say. Your first commandment is to transport every single warrior and their offspring to the location that I have sent you just now. Kill whoever opposes my will and leave their bodies here.
<Once you are done evacuating this village, your next orders are to burn it to the ground. As your rulers successor, this feeble and unneeded hiding from the real world is foolish. Through myself and my mortal guise Markus Bleache' shall you flourish and become a reckoning to this world.
<You answer to me, and to me alone. The same goes for every member of the Tenmeigakure you evacuate. Consider yourselves apart of the greatest empire this realm has ever known!>
Oracle looked behind him at Tsurugi's household. He smirked.
<You may commence with your orders,> he said. <Leave the body of Tsurugi unscathed. Make sure that it is the only being of uncharred flesh in the aftermath. That is all.>
As Oracle started to walk out of the village, he could hear the elders start to do as they were told. He could hear the screams of the wives of the rebellious ones that were slayed instantly. And once he stepped out of the boundaries of the village, he could feel the flames start to surround the old traces of the Tenmeigakure. With this, Oracle could only smile, knowing that the future of the greatest society of ninjas this realm has ever known is now in his hands.
