Rights of Passage [Abbadon/Shadow]

[Roiyaru]

[This takes place after the trio's return to the Ningenkai from Heaven and before the events leading to "ThrillHer" and "Searching."]

Roiyaru was not aware of the meaning of this meeting the Knight called between his master and himself, nor did he decide to worry about it. There was a perfectly reasonable explanation for everything, as the three of them realized during their time in Heaven under the watchful eye of it's new Ha-ou, Kouzetsu Gin.

The sprite waited patiently for both Shadow and his master to arrive. He knew that Shadow's duties as the head seat of the organization were probably running him a bit tardy for this meeting, but his master had no excuse for not being there.

But he was already here; it would be rude of Roiyaru to leave to pursue his master just for Shadow to appear and find that no one was present. So all he could do was be patient.

[Akuma Shadow]

SHadow walked quickly toward the small office that he told both Roiyaru and Abbadon to meet him in. Making some of the finishing touchs to some of the documents he had to do now was what made him lose the track of time. This was first time he ever had to do something quite like this. Sure, most of time it would be some one in his department to do what needed to be done but this time was different.

He didn't know how long he was going to be gone; weeks, months, a year or two; he and runa were going to find her sister. That's why he needed those two and hopefully they would be happy to help them out.

Shadow did how ever did have a slight feeling that it would turn out oddd or sour if you want to see it that way. The Knight just hope that they both understand.

Opening the door, Shadow peer his head in the doorway to see if anyone was in there. he was glad to see that Roiyaru was in there but pissed that Abbadon was late.

I swear that guy is going to be the death of me.... Shadow thought as he sighed. he knew if he was here now that Abbadon wouldn't be far behind. Walking in the office, he left the door open and sat, smiling at the sprite in front of him.

"Hello Roiyaru," Shadow spoke, "I trust you find this office without any trouble." Clearing his throat, the Knight gave the sprite a stern look.

"Seeing how Abbadon isn't here as of yet, I would like to get started. I will be leaving pretty soon for a personal matter with our other Head Seat, Runa Liger, to Spain. Now I know that you are not a Devil Saint member, not offically, but I need someone to watch over things while I am gone. I really don't know how long I will absent and thats when you two come in the picture."

Shadow then stopped as he heard foot steps. He waited to see who would come to the door.

[Hakaisha Abbadon]

Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it, DAMN IT! Abbadon kept thinking to himself with every quick step he took down the hallway. He hated being late to shit, especially since there wasn't shit to do to make him late. He looked down the hallway the office Shadow told him was supposed to be. But every time it seemed like he would get closer, the hallway would just extend itself like the end of the movie Poltergeist just to troll him.

Abbadon frowned. "Fuck this!" he said to himself. He immediately burst into a blast of black chaotic flames and disappeared out of the hallway, only to reappear next to his sprite Roiyaru and across from Shadow in the same black flames of his.

Well, that's one mode of transportation other than flight re-mastered, he thought to himself. Noticing that Shadow as looking out the door, he smirked and folded his arms.

"Hey, bro," he said. "What's up?"

Shadow just frowned. There was no joking, no quick quips or jabs at him, just a frown. There really wasn't any time for this and Shadow was surprised that he was feeling this way. Normally it would have been a quick joke but now....

"Just sit," Shadow said with a sigh as he looked away from the door, "I really don't have time for your shit, so please, sit. Now."

Clearing his throat, he looked at Roiyaru, then at Abbadon for a quick glance. "As I was saying before Abbadon dropped in, I'm leaving for Spain in the morning and I need someone to take charge of the place while I'm gone. I wanted both of you in here to take care of a few things."

Shadow then turn his gaze on the sprite, warmly, "Roiyaru, I need you to take over as an honorary Devil Saint First seat. This hasn't been done before, and trust me, I checked, but I believe it would be best for you to take over my duties. Now, there isn't much to do but to watch over the other seats and make sure nothing really happens."

Shadow then looked at Abbadon, with the same warm look, "Abbadon, as you being our newest member of the Devil Saints, I need you to get up to speed with all of the things here. I've set you up for training with Maggie. You know, the one that gave you the bike? I told her that she can pick the place and time so I would be on the look out for any notices or something."

He then rose out of his seat.

"Any questions?" he asked.

Abbadon just blinked when he heard Shadow tell him to sit down. He wasn't expecting that at all; he was too used to the twat trying to make a quick comeback to whatever the archangel said, regardless if it was a joke or not. So after a few seconds of trying to figure out what the fuck just happened, he took a seat next to Roiyaru. He crossed both his arms and his legs, waiting for him to speak.

Geez, Abbadon thought to himself. What got your panties riding up?

"As I was saying," Shadow continued, "before Abbadon dropped in..."

Abbadon chuckled under his breath. More like "appeared out of nowhere," he thought to himself, but I digress...

"...I'm leaving for Spain in the morning and I need someone to take charge of the place while I'm gone. I wanted both of you in here to take care of a few things."

Abbadon grinned. The fact that he and Roiyaru were the only ones at this meeting only proved that Shadow knew that he was the only option to watch after the organization while he was gone. He prepared his "thank you" speech in his head so he could accept the honorary seat, stretching a bit before he stood up.

Then Shadow spoke again.

"Roiyaru," he said to his sprite, "I need you to take over as an honorary Devil Saint First seat. This hasn't been done before, and trust me, I checked, but I believe it would be best for you to take over my duties. Now, there isn't much to do but to watch over the other seats and make sure nothing really happens."

Abbadon completely froze in place. I mean, how else do you react to a bullshit decision like that? And even when Shadow looked at Abbadon, he didn't let up his current position at all.

"Abbadon," Shadow started, "as you being our newest member of the Devil Saints, I need you to get up to speed with all of the things here. I've set you up for training with Maggie. You know, the one that gave you the bike? I told her that she can pick the place and time so I would be on the look out for any notices or something."

His right eye started to twitch. Don't get me wrong; he was cool as fuck about the idea of training with Maggie. But still; Roiyaru? The honorary First-fucking-seat?!

"Any questions?" Shadow asked.

By that time, Abbadon had gone through his paralysis shock and was able to move freely. And since he was standing, he decided to draw Shadow's attention by clearing his throat.

"Yes, Shadow," he said politely and with the utmost respect, "I believe I do have a question."

Suddenly, he slammed both of his fists on Shadow's desk; his facial expression resembling that of a very pissed off anime character's. Like, seriously; you could see both sweat drop and stress signs on or around his forehead. And his question wasn't helping either.

"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND?!?!" He pointed to Roiyaru. "Don't get me wrong; I love Roi to death. But come on! HE'S A FUCKING DOG!!!"

Roiyaru rolled his eyes upon the dramatic yet unnecessary entrance of his master. And it was obvious that Shadow was not amused by his master's showmanship either. But instead of making matters worse, the canine sprite just thought it would be better if he didn't necessarily say anything of the matter, and instead listen to what the Knight had to say.

He went on to once again state that he was going to a place called Barcelona, with the woman he introduced to him in heaven as his potential mate. And because of this, he would not be here to attend to the duties as the first seat of his organization. So he appointed Roiyaru of this task.

For lack of better words, Roiyaru was shocked. He was completely flabbergasted that Shadow would appoint him of such task. But at the same time, he felt honored. And it was because of this that he accepted. However, the words were still lacking the formation to echo out his maw. So instead, he humbly bowed in response to his appointment.

When he rose his head back, he noticed Shadow assign his duties to his master. At first, it seemed that he didn't mind what Shadow had ordered him to do. But he didn't have to read his master's mind to know that he was not happy with the result of his meeting. This is why when he exploded in a fit of childish rage against Shadow, Roiyaru only chuckled in response.

"I may not be reading this correctly, Shadow, but it seems to me that my master is unhappy with his result," he told Shadow with a hint of sarcasm.

The sprite had to admit; it was fun displaying a bit of this mortal humor toward his master. He only hoped that Shadow caught what other mortals called... a joke.

Shadow had to laugh at the sprites attempt of a joke. It was good for a frist try. That and any joke on Abbadon was a good joke.

He had a feeling that Abbadon would be pissed but it's not like Shadow didn't have a reason for it.

"Look, I know this sounds strange but Abbadon, you're still a rookie and Roiyaru has shown that he can learn pretty quickly. I'm not doing this because I want to, I'm doing this because it needs to be done. I can't come back ot the Devil Saints in the shit hole because of a bad judgement." After a deep sigh, Shadow smiled.

"Trust me, you will figure out in time why I made it this way."

Abbadon tried to make sense of the bullshit that went underway. Listening to Shadow try to explain why he made Roiyaru the honorary first seat of the Devil Seats alone started to make his head hurt. As a matter of fact, that kinda relieved him a bit. He was thinking on shit longer than usually and it was pissing him off. So knowing that there was a bit of his own mindset still in tact was kind of comforting.

So instead of trying to come up with some whitty comeback that would keep this debacle going for at least two more hours, Abbadon simply lowered his head and sighed. He turned around and sat back in his seat.

"Whatever."

[Akuma Shadow]

Shadow shook his head but with a smirk on his face. He couldn't believe that Abbadon was actually taking this hard and he found it funny that the man who had a witty come back for any situation only said one word.

"Look, I'm sorry for being an ass," Shadow started, "You just join the place and are learning the ropes. I picked Roiyaru for the simple fact that he could watch over the place as a whole. I'm sure that Sara will be using his help as well. This whole Spain trip has been really stressing and it's not about the fact that we need to something very important but the fact that I have, as of yet, told Runa about the last few days. Let's be honest, it will not go well. So if it's any sunny day to you, I might be chewed out by my girlfriend."

Shadow then looked at Roiyaru. "Which reminds me, most of the doors that need to be used to be in here have been fitted with a paw print scanner. Just hold your paw on them and you are in. I didn't know how you felt about the doggie door, so I had Maggie install them."

Watching his master and the Knight go at it was always amusing. And in all honesty, the fact that Shadow in this life had more of his authority established gave the sprite all the more respect for him than previously.

He noticed his master give up on trying to understand Shadow's decision. He did admit; he was somewhat disappointed. And the situation had him so upset that he didn't even concern himself to say something back to Shadow. And hearing his reason why he appointed the sprite as Honorary First Seat was rather fair; he wanted to help in any way possible, and it was a fact that his master was not yet at the abilities to be granted with this task.

"Which reminds me," he heard Shadow say. Roiyaru's attention was once again immediately fixated on the Knight.

"Most of the doors that need to be used to be in here have been fitted with a paw print scanner," he told the sprite. "Just hold your paw on them and you are in. I didn't know how you felt about the doggie door, so I had Maggie install them."

Roiyaru smiled. He honestly had no problems with the contraption in question. But if he were going to be Honorary First Seat, he figured as much that he had to get used to the mortal technology here. So keeping his smile on his maw, he lowered his head in a bow.

"Thank you very much for your consideration, Akuma," Roiyaru said humbly. He rose his head up. "I promise I will not let you down."

Shadow smiled. At least one person was happy about this. He didn't want to leave the place without having someone cover his ass for him. Sara was busy with her own things; Ethan was always on the job and well, there were these two.

"Well, if everything is said and done..." Shadow picked up his papers and headed for the door, "...Have a good day everyone. I hope I won't be gone to long."

[Hakaisha Abbadon]

"Pfft," Abbadon waved off, turning his back on Shadow. "Whatever. Just bring me back something nice."

He turned back around and pointed at Shadow, putting a somewhat-intimidating look on his face.

"I'm serious, bro," he projected. "It better be nice. And nothing cheap! I know you can afford the good shit!"

Then he combusted into a group of black flames, teleporting himself out of the room.

Shadow just rose an eyebrow as the last bit of black flame disappeared from the office building. He sighed as he turn back around to face Roiyaru with a grin.

"I guess we can say that he got over it..." he said with a chuckle.

With another Sigh, Shadow walked to the door of the office. Opening the door, he turn back to Roiyaru with a stern look. "Keep an eye out on him, will ya?" he asked as he walk away, closing the door behind him.

Roiyaru nodded at Shadow's request to watch his master, even though such request did not have to be mentioned for the sprite to follow.

And when he watched Shadow walk away, he immediately sat down and closed his eyes. Once they opened again, he -- like his master -- erupted in a burst of flames only to disappear as soon as they ended to begin his term as the honorary first seat of the Devil Saints.
