Gin was not pleased to say the least from the Einjheriar Kuro's latest piece of information. Kuro had brought to Gin's attention the hospitalization of another young Upright, victim to some unforeseen attack by a fallen, right in the mists of the 6th layer. It would seem that the attacks had not been halted, and that Heaven still teamed with ways for the fallen to trespass, something Gin's was working diligently to correct. Although this matter could have been handled by someone else, Gin felt it pertinent for his citizens to see his face, be in his presence, and know that he had not abandoned them.
Escorted by Kogane, and Kaihaku, the two largest and most imposing of his personal guard, Gin walked into the medical facility where the girl was being kept. Gin discovered from her handlers that she was brought here after a confrontation with a dark haired young man, who revealed to her and a crowd of onlookers to be a fallen. Commanding his guard to stand outside the door, Kogane acknowledged with a sharp salute, and Kaihaku with a small nod, the sound of his metal suit clanging as he moved his head and neck.
Gin motioned to them to let no one enter, and as he turned his back to enter the room, Kogane placed his hand on Gin's shoulder, stopping him mid stride.
"And whats to be done after this, the people are beginning to grow weary of these attacks." Kogane said to Gin, in his gruff and frank manner of speech, something Gin had come to respect about his oldest friend.
"I am aware of such Kogane. This conversation will shed a much needed light on the situation. This girl is the key, and her testimony will be the first steps a war that seems inevitable."Gin said as he
continued his path into the room where the girl lie asleep.
Walking inside, Gin softly closed the door to the room. The morning light was still beaming through the open window, and the cool and gentle breeze the blew through the room caused Gin's robes to waft in a serene manner. As she lie on the bed, Gin walked over to her, standing next to the bed, Gin placed his broad hand on her head. She was sweating and her brow was furrowed, a sign of mental anguish from dreams and haunting memories. As she opened her eyes, a small stream of tear flowed from her eyes. She attempted to speak as Gin gently stroked her head, "Kouzetsu-sama, you're..." Yumi said, attempting to sit up at the sight of Gin.
"Shh... no need to strain yourself child, rest and take your time." Gin sad calmly. Looking down at the girl Gin forced as calm smile, hoping to make her comfortable despite the situation.
"Kouzetsu-sama, why have you come. Please, don't tell me something else terrible has happened." Yumi said, trembling slightly.
"Do not fret child, nothing has happened. I am merely here to assure that you are are safe." Gin aid, his voice clear and calm, his smile warm. "Tell me child, who was it that caused you the harm that has resulted in your subsequent hospitalization." Gin asked, starring through his spectacles into Yumi eyes.
"Thank you for your concern my lord. Everyone has been so kind to me since my parents were killed, I am grateful to be in your thoughts." Yumi said as she slowly sat up. With a long look on her face, she pondered Gin's request, and after sighing she obeyed and answered him dutifully. "The person who harmed me was boy. He seemed young, when I bumped into him he was so kind, he helped my gather my things I clumsily dropped." Yumi said, in a pitiful voice.
"As I began to speak to him, his aura was strange. I couldn't read him properly. It was like, trying to see through a dense fog. I don't mean to pry into people's lives, but it was this that made curious." Yumi continued.
Intrigued by this Gin asked, "Yumi, are you by chance a Mercrium?" Gin asked.
"Yes my lord, so the more he spoke, the cleared the fog became, and I was terrified by what I saw." Yumi said, he voice beginning to break.
"And what was it you saw Yumi." Gin said, listening intently, he face stoic as he listened to Yumi's story.
"I saw it all Kouzetsu-sama. I saw him murder Haruhi-sama, mama, papa, so many others..." Yumi trailed off, weeping into her own hands.
Gin focused himself to not show anything, but he was taken aback by the revelation. For all his searching, all his plan and incentives, the truth lay before him in the words of a citizen, a young girl who met the assailant in a moment of happenstance. "What was the boy's name Yumi." Gin asked in a solemn voice, his glasses reflective in view as he lifted his head.
"Mishiranu Arashi..." Yumi said, clearing his voice. As she dried her tears, Gin demeanor began to change. His smile was now non existent, his gaze stone, and his face showing nothing but the utmost seriousness. "My lord, what will you do when you find him?" Yumi asked, moving to sit on the edge of her bed, starring at the Ha-ou."
"Bring him and all those involved to justice. Yumi, when you are in better spirits, please come to see me in the Shichisou. I have asked enough of you today, but there are more questions that I have." Gin said, handing her a missive, a signature for those who would receive questioning at a later date. "Farewell Yumi." Said turning immediately, leaving the girl in the room. Outside he beckoned Kogane and Kaihaku to follow.
"What have you found?" Kogane asked.
"Answers." Gin said bluntly, in a passive voice. As he exited the facility, he pondered on the information. "A boy, a boy feels he can make a mockery of me. The filth, I have not come this far for all I have strived for to be thrown out like so much rubbish by the actions a mere child." Gin said to himself.
"Kogane, assemble the complete Einjheriar. We shall soon depart for a trip to see the Yami-ou to discuss the rules of engagement. War is on the horizon." Gin said, reserving his emotions, remaining professional as always.
