She lit a cigarette.
Not a real great way to start off a story about this bitch, but that doesn't make the statement false...
No, Amaziah wasn't the kind of chick that needed a flashy entrance, or a groove playing to make her presence known. All she needed to do was walk in a room, or sit in a chair, or tap her fingernails on something. She didn't have to look a certain way, she didn't have to walk a certain strut, and she sure as hell didn't need anyone attached to her arm.
Sometimes all it takes is lighting one single cigarette...
She sat with her legs crossed and blew out the puff of smoke, holding the puffer with a mixed sense of femininity and poise. She glanced to her right to see her two pistols with the power of cannons, then to her left to see her special made katana that chopped off the heads of many eager-beaver niggas and happy-go-lucky crackas that tried to bite off more than they could chew.
Oh; and she used it for missions as well...
She took another puff, leaning her head back to stare at the ceiling. What to do today, she thought. You'd never think the life of an assassin-turned-Tenmeigakure Beserker was so bland. You would think that it would be a blast -- and in Amaziah's case, that would be taken rather literally -- until you wake up one day to find that you have nothing to do.
Or so she thought...

The day was warm, the sun falling gracefully over the sky as Tsurugi made his way through town toward someone he'd come to think rather highly of. The man was eager to begin some form of action or another, and the new expansion policy had given reason for things to move forward quickly. The rare breed that made up the savage berserkers weren't at all what they seemed to be. The woman he currently desire to see was in no way the obvious brute that the force user was. Tsurugi wasn't one to attempt at appearances however, and wore clothing that acted efficiently for his goals. He was a practitioner of older spells and tools, like swords and fists. He didn't much like the weapons used so commonly these days. He covered his face in bandages soaked in a salve that filtered smokes and airborne poisons rather well and doubled as first aid for wounds given in battle.
Tsurugi spotted the female sitting calmly, passersby glancing over at her in curiosity. The way she held herself showed her to be without care for the attention she was given. Her demeanor was of someone waiting for something other then the next fool to try his luck, Tsurugi knew the boredom. Without hesitation Tsurugi walked to the female and smiled, he had always been fond of his fellow berserker. It was one thing to do what you were instructed, but another then to do it without fail and always destroy everything involving your target. He was happy the female had been scouted, one thing the many elementals and assassins spread about the world were good for.
"Good afternoon Amaziah. I hope you are well, there is something I would like to discuss, "Tsurugi began, a tad lighter then his normal tone, but the same harsh and aggressive voice. The coldness normally behind his tongue was gone, but the animal behind the voice was naturally unable to sheath his claws. "What do you think of the new path the village is taking? I understand that you used to live normally with the outsiders, what do you feel about us emerging from the shadows?"
Tsurugi posed the question, wondering how willing she was to take steps in his direction. He was well aware he could order any of his village as the leader, but he respected his warriors, and he wanted them to be with him fully. Tsurugi felt that the will of the dawn followed the heart of it's people, if it were to waver due to fear and doubt, the village was better hidden a the storm of snow.

By the time Amaziah raised her head back up, Tsurugi was sitting across from her. She wasn't surprised; she could hear him coming a mile away. She just always found it entertaining whenever the man mustered up the courage to talk to her. And every time he did, he started off with the same line. Growing up the way she did, life taught her that's how you know when a man is sprung for you.
She chuckled at the thought. Imagining the two of them together was nothing but comedic gold. She didn't even think she could keep a straight face if he even tried to make a serious move on her. But ironically, Tsurugi was the one she liked. In a way, he was like the quiet version of her, if ever such person had the balls to compare themselves to her. And even though Amaziah would never admit it out loud, she was glad to see the fool.
She took another drag of her cigarette as she listened to Tsurugi talk about bringing the village out of the sad M. Night Shyamalan plot twist it's been in even before she arrived there. And the fact that apparently he had to remind her that she came from the "real world" made a smirk accompany her chuckle. But, he did ask her for her opinion. And it would have been rude of her to just sit there quiet.
Amaziah lowered her shades so that she could look into his eyes as that same smirk slid to the left side of her face. Her cigarette was propped up in her hand as the smoke from the tip shimmied upward.
"I think it's about damn time you decided to man up Tsurugi," she said, adding a pinch of her sound magic in her voice for a teasing affect. She chuckled as she brought the cigarette closer to her mouth.
"But you didn't hear that from me," she said before taking another drag. Once she parted her red lips from the cig, she exhaled, using her air magic to part the smoke to Tsurugi's sides of his head so that he wouldn't have to inhale it.
After all; she knew how much he couldn't stand cigarette smoke...

Watching her actions as he spoke gave him little else but a nonchalant vibe from Amaziah. He couldn't tell much of what she might be thinking, but that made her interesting. His words ending to her chuckling didn't annoy him as much as it would if anyone else would have found him so amusing. The fact that he was so lenient on those in his village, those he liked more then most, wasn't something he wanted to spread either. He saw Amaziah lower her sun glasses and figured she was ready to reply. He didn't shy away from the gaze she sent his way, meeting her eyes to eye as she spoke.
"I think it's about damn time you decided to man up Tsurugi"
Tsurugi was mildly taken aback by the phrase and not so sure of what she meant. He felt she was simply teasing him but the fact that it sounded like her doubting his manhood pissed him off. Her smile told him it was only a joke and not likely to mean anything more then it was about time he acted. He squinted and looked at her sharply, wondering exactly what she might have meant and feeling somewhat foolish for not understanding.
"But you didn't hear that from me."
So it was a comment on her relief at his action, good, now it was sensible. Tsurugi sat back in his chair, thankful that she was considerate enough not to allow the smoke from her cigarette to reach him. He never understood why anyone would inhale such poisons willingly. There was no since in it, though he wouldn't ruin anyone's pleasure by forcing them to stop. Tsurugi kept his eyes on the woman and rest his left arm on the table, allowing his right to fall by his side. He looked around for a moment, taking in the things around him before turning back to Amaziah.
"You're a very brazen woman Amaziah, but yes, it is well past the time for this village to grow. I'm not so sure if I want people to know of our existence just yet, but they will hear the dawn on the winds and see us in their dreams. We must convince the masses that we hold the gate to peace, and crush the militant and radical into submitting after their defeat. There is only one way to unite the world, and that is to show everyone what they want to see. The peaceful must be coaxed and the violent must be beaten. Our job as berserkers," Tsurugi paused, rethinking his words a bit. "Your job as a berserker, since I hold a new position as Leader, is too destroy the violent ones and make them submit. As such... I have a mission for you."
Tsurugi turned back to the table, resting his elbows on it's surface and his head on his hands. His eyes latched to his company, once more searching her for a response.

Amaziah's cool stayed strong as she listened to Tsurugi start talking like a motivational speaker. She had to admit; that's the one thing she didn't necessarily care for in the guy. He always went over a mountain, a mole hill and a Cadillac before stating his point all the time. But every time he did this in front of Amaziah, she couldn't help but chuckle under her breath, only because she would find it ironic every time that mouth of his was covered completely by those bandages.
He said he had a mission for her after a damn books worth of literary devices afterward. Her immediate response was another drag of her cigarette, and probably the last one out of the one she had as well. She never really cared for cigarettes anyway. She knew about the shit in them, which was why she waited until after she learned air magic to smoke them; she would use her air magic to filter out all the ignorant shit and exhale it in the puff of smoke afterward. Take it how you want, but she could only guess that the reason for smoking was because she just needed something in her mouth...
Amaziah sighed playfully. "This better be better than that last damn excuse of a mission you sent me on, Tsurugi," she said as she started raising her katana out of it's sheath slowly. "You know I can't stand those 'hit it and quit it's' you give me."
She saw Tsurugi rest his head on his hands after informing her that a mission was up for grabs. That told Amaziah that the fool was tired. Well, either tired or emotionally drained; she could never tell with Tsurugi. Either way, she didn't like it when he was like that, especially since he was still staring at her. She smiled and laid her head against the wall behind her.
"What's on your mind, hun?"

Amaziah reacted to his speech with her normal stoic expression, it was awkward to him that she seemed amused by something, but he got over it. There was nothing he could do about her personality that wasn't unnecessary and obnoxious, so he would let her be. Tsurugi wasn't used to speaking to people, so he felt the need to fully express himself and lead to his point with a bit of motivation. For a man as threatening as he seemed to be, most people acted out of fear before understanding so he was trying to limit that in speech.
Her reaction to his announcement of her mission was to threaten playfully, and even Tsurugi couldn't help but smile. Nothing would thrill him more then a sudden brawl with someone of his level, especially someone of his liking. Though, that was a foolish thought at the moment, and he cooled the boil of adrenaline that fueled him in that instant. He did however, have a wide enough smile to move the bandages on his face a bit. Tsurugi didn't allow the expression for long and relaxed swiftly, not missing her usual joking come on at all.
"My mind?" Tsurugi hadn't had a question like that imposed on him in quite some time, he didn't exactly know how to respond either. So, as per his natural action he ceased to think of a way to describe the sheer amount of things he was doing out of character. Organizing the silent rise of a hidden village and managing the many snakes he now controlled. Ensuring the proper instruction of students of the village so they would be better suited for life outside the world he was raised, but still instill the values of their culture. He was even forced to map out the key areas to plant his people with the elders and the elementals and assassins in charge of espionage and planning.
"What's on my mind indeed..." Tsurugi muttered, a minor moment of his weakened state of being showing. the man was used t breaking shit and leaving it, not preparing a mass invasion of the outside world. He was repairing all that was broken in a world afraid to be fixed, and he wasn't even used to running his village yet.
"In any case I'm sure you will enjoy your next job. I'm sending you to correct the continent of Africa. You can take with you a small team of two other individuals of any class that are not engaged in other objectives." Tsurugi sat himself up and erected the demeanor of a leader when he began his briefing. "by order of the dawn, you are to destroy all militant and rebel forces that insist on continuing their campaign. You are to bring the people together and promise them peace and prosperity, when this is done you will report back here."
Tsurugi rose and stretched a bit, ready to take on the load of his title once more. He had sat and relaxed in Amaziah's company even though it was a necessary meeting. Now he had to arrange not only the spread of his promises of peace and prosperity, but also arrange for the fulfillment of the promise.
"When you return, I myself... will fulfill that promise."

Africa. Hot damn...
Amaziah thought she'd never end up there. About four years after her mother was killed, her father decided to break the news to her that neither of them were her biological parents. He told her that her real ones were in Africa, deciding to give her up through an opportunity for children to be sent to America, hoping she could have a better life.
Heh. Yeah, this is better alright...
Long story short, part of the reason why she ran away from home was because that she was in a place she didn't belong. Being adopted kinda does that to a kid. And ironically, the second part was so that she could find the cunt who killed her foster mother and make them pay. I know, right? Kinda redundant. Why would you run away from home partly because you found out you were adopted and partly because you wanted to avenge your foster mother's death?
I could only guess that the only thing running through Amaziah's mind was that the Brown's were the only family she had. They cared for her, they stood by her, they loved her. And that love seemed to rub off on her for them. I could only guess why she decided to keep on this little personal mission of hers. And when you have the love of a family behind you, then nigga you better run...
"Africa," she said as she placed her katana back inside her sheath. She grinned mischievously. "I can work with that."
She stared at Tsurugi out the corner of her shades, starting to head out the door. All of a sudden, she started to feel a bit restless. It was always fun to tease the man; if not to make him aware that he has the good shit around. Quickly letting go of her katana handle, she quickly grabbed Tsurugi's wrist, feeling it with her thumb. She looked in his direction, making eye contact with the fool. Her shades slid down her nose as if it was on cue. She seductively smirked at Tsurugi, followed by a chuckle.
"Well?" she started. "Ain't you gonna give me a proper goodbye?"
