Lihat sat at his desk without moving, his eyes hidden in the shadow of his hood. It was a cloudy day so he'd chanced leaving his long trench coat at home. On top of that he was wearing a thinner shirt, though it was still long enough to extend to his knuckles. The shirt had a hood as well, making him just as peculiar as ever. Since he had avoided being seen on Saturday by the girls that intended to bug him about their love affairs, he was still somewhat of a mystery to the class. He sat in a desk near the center of the room, and felt the many eyes on him. The social studies teacher walked out and the room immediately erupted in speech and giggles. Lihat sighed and clasped his gloved hands together, awaiting the female in tears.
Lihat wore shaded glasses in school to hide his blind eyes, so he had to act as if he paid attention to things. There was a bit of skill to it, sometimes he would run off of memory and look at things as they happened in order to seem like he cared. Other times he'd focus on something that he couldn't see as if it interested him. In any case, he was now quite fine with leaning over his desk and staring at his pencil. The door opened and Misa left with Daisuke right behind her, her taller friend Kana watching her as she left. Lihat shook his head and pushed the pencil to the edge of his desk.
Kana turned around and stared at Lihat with worry, then she walked up to him and sat on the corner of his desk. She leaned closer to him, staring at the scarf over his face, then at her reflection in his glasses. She lifted a hand as if thinking to touch him, then dropped it back to the desk's surface. Lihat rolled the pencil toward him. Kana looked down at the pencil and then back to Lihat.
"You're wrong, she has been getting closer to him for months now. All that work can't be in vain," Kana said, unsure of herself by the sound of it. Lihat rolled the pencil to the edge of his desk once more, then let it roll to him. Kana spoke again. "I'm telling you, I bet their rounding the bases right now." Kana seemed to find confidence in her friends lewdness and tossed her raven hair back. A majestic sight that might have aroused Lihat if he could see it, it certainly brought the other boys around to attention.
"You really believe that?" Lihat questioned, his voice low and his tone calm. He didn't want a scene, he was already looked at with caution.
"Yeah," Kana said, turning her body toward him, leaning closer to create the cliche scene of two youths in a fight that looked more like the prelude to a good roll in the sack. "Yeah I do."
Lihat liked the tone she gave him, he could imagine just how confident she was in her friend, and that his words before had stung her just as much as it had stung Misa the soon to be rejected. Lihat chuckled, his predictions had a reputation, this female knew that. So he smiled and sat up, directing his face in her direction, which, by the sound of her voice must have been very close. His ability to remember in reverse feeding him a new path which each decision he made in his mind. Every time he changed his thoughts the future before him ran a new route, though he didn't know this. Each time her heart wavered, so did his memories and what he knew of the coming actions. Though, even with this, his memory was sure enough that he was going to be winning this bet.
"Then, if I win, you're mine for a month," Lihat said, his voice barely over a whisper.
"What the hell does that mean?!" Kana demanded in a not so subtle tone, leaning back slightly as she did so, breaking the mild eroticy of the scene they'd created.
"Meaning I can make you do my odd jobs and chores retard," Lihat spat hurriedly, knowing the three big goofs in the back of the class where going to attack him if he insulted their dream girl. Kana relaxed and returned her poise.
"And if I win, it's the same, but I don't want work, I want answers," her voice was getting dangerously close to malicious, only to grow nearly inaudible. "I also want... to know what you're hide from us everyday."
Kana raised the stakes to something a lot higher then Lihat had figured, and he wavered. He knew he wasn't perfect, and he was in for a loss anytime soon. Though, he could see her running down the hall in the next ten seconds he wasn't sure if he could risk it.
"You scared Li-kun? Think I might be able to see more then you?" Kana taunted, and Lihat fell for it. He felt a bit of his blood boil, she was thinking of herself too highly for his tastes.
"Fine, I accept, she'll be running down the hall in tears in a second anyway. I'll expect you to be walking me home today, I have laundry for you to do," Lihat said with a nice dose of venom.
"You're on mister mysterious, I'm going to have you do my bidding all this month." Kana hissed in his ear as the door snapped open.
Misa rushed into the room through the open door, her face soaked in tears. Kana stood immediately and looked at Lihat in shock and defeat before rushing to her dear friend. Lihat smirked and returned to pushing his pencil, another victory. It was nice to be right, Lihat was inches from bliss when the tall pretty boy walked in behind the sobbing girl. He shut the door and eyes fell on him. He blushed, rubbing the back of his head with his left hand. Misa broke from Kana and ran over to Daisuke, giving him a hug before skipping to her seat with the biggest smile on her face. Kana was mildly astounded, then smiled, and shot a glance at Lihat, whom had ceased paying attention, believing himself the victor after his memory had been right till that point.
"Kana he," Misa began, as Kana sat next to her, leaning in to listen. "He said he'd always felt the same, he accepted. We're going out t.." the sound of her voice hollowed in Lihat's ears.
He accepted?
The damned pretty boy accepted?
Lihat stood up and walked out of the classroom, Kana simply sat there, trying not to look at the loser walk away as she held the widest grin of all. For her... it was a great Monday.
