In the midst of a classroom of silent and attentive students there was a sound. That sound rung loud though the sound was yet low. The students all seem ignorant of the obvious disturbance as the lecture continued on monotone and dry. In the stillness of the crowd sat the source of the low noise that rang so loud. His head swaying in tune with the rhythm of his muse as he jotted across the page of his notebook. His attention all but forward, his books lay untouched beside him and his hand ever wisping across the paper. The rest of the class payed no mind but for the one female looking over his shoulder, watching as he rained ink upon a once untainted sheet. His eyes flowed with his fingers as her eyes trailed his hand, and his mind outside the room, trapped in the low booming sound of his headphones.
The lecture ends and his eyes catch the shuffling of the drones about him as they file out of the room. He waits, his eyes scanning the room as the crowd dispersed and he smiled and bobbed in tune. His books stowed away and his notebook in hand, he waited for the jumbled filing to end. As the room cleared he stood and stretched, taking his bag in hand and tucking his pen in the band of his headphones as he caught the eye of his silent observer. He lifted his brow and pushed in his chair as she reached her hand through the air. He hand caught the earpiece and lifted it from his ear, so she may catch his attention and take him from the sound. Her voice cool and smooth, as if coaxing a lover she spoke to him.
"What were you writing, that didn't look like western philosophy to me." her voice cooed.
Kim, with half the sound from his senses and the sound of her voice striking a cord out of tune, tilted hi head to give her his full glare. Her voice had no rhythm and her words had no purpose and he felt his heart beating as her lashes beat through his sound filled soul. Damned nosy chick. Kim felt his pulse quicken and his palms moisten and his eyes caught the motion of a bird at the window. His ears caught the steps of the students outside and his mind lost the solitude and serenity of his lyrical haven.
"Your eulogy if you keep touching me," came the crushing cold of his nervous soul. His momentous statement the finale of this conversation as he felt the calming tune crash back against his skull as she reared back aghast. Then, his tempo was stuttered by the reverberating crash of flesh to his glaring cover when she retaliated with beat of her own (right against his cheek).
Out of the door she stormed, and slowly he followed to the beat of his melodic whole. He left the school and headed to a strip mall to find something to eat.

Ayaka was at a dead end. It wasn't like she wanted to be at this dead end, she was just growing lazy in this realm. From the shopping that she did to look more 'normal' to the the books she had on her.
Yes, she decide to not only learn from the students at this school, she was going to teach them. But only for temporary moment. Oddly enough (or lucky) one of the teachers here became ill. Right around the same time that she was applying to work here...with all the necessary forged papers.
But for now, it was lunch. Well, studying and lunch. She was able to snag a table that nobody wanted and that left things quite for the Djinn. She just wonder how long it would last.
Closing her journal and sliding her pencil into suit pocket.

Kim found the nearest restaurant when he entered the mall and found himself walking towards it without much thought. His notebook was open in his right hand and his eyes traversed the lines whilst his pace kept tempo to the music in his ears. He pushed open the door with his right hand and entered to a ding he couldn't hear. The bustle around him was invisible to him, nor did he consider it important. Kim followed the empty path from the corner of his eye to a table he didn't think occupied.
Kim reached for the chair he planned to sit in with his empty hand, only to pull himself over instead. Kim slipped as his bag swung around his shoulder, pulling him off balance and taking him over the chair that didn't move. He fell straight into the lap of some suited lady, pausing there for a moment to realize what happened. Kim set his notebook on the top of the table as he pulled himself from the stranger and to his feet.
"...uh...Hi," Kim stammered lightly seeing that the one he'd fallen on was unluckily an attractive female. From what she was wring she was either a major nerd or a teacher.
Kim was unsure whether he should quickly skirt off or wait a few measures and regain his cool. He couldn't just let that failure just go without redeeming himself, even if it required a conversation he'd rather avoid.

Ayaka knew that her silence and peace of mind would be over, just not so soon and to have, from the looks of it, a student here at the school. The Djinn quickly rose an eyebrow and was about to grab a throat but the young man quickly picked himself up which if you think of it was good for everyone.
No needs blood in their clam chowder.
"...uh...Hi," she heard him say after he looked at her.
Some humans can be rude... she thought None the less, I should speak with him...
"Hello. Ms. Kawahira and you are?"

Kim felt a bit creeped out by her lack of reaction, most people would fly off the handle from something like that, at least he didn't have to worry about too much of a scene. His smiled halfheartedly and felt his desire to quickly move away rising. He watched her lips move and pieced it together with what little he could hear over his headphones, and decided she must be introducing herself. Great, she's a sociable one. If she'd been a bitch this would have been so much easier.
"I''m Kim, nice of you to allow me so close to your thighs. Nor,ally that's a second date kinda thing isn't it?" Kim said, his natural ill mannered people skills shining through. He smirked and pushed one of his ear pieces from his ear so he could speak without reading her lips. He hadn't really caught her name, though he had no plans of talking to her again anytime. He slipped into the chair next to her and off the floor. It'd be bad if someone thought he was proposing or something kneeling while he was kneeling there.
Kim wondered how much of his personality she would be able to handle before she decided to cuss at him and either storm off or glare as he strolled away.

Chrysanthemum silently slunk into the food court, gathering her robe about her as she walked. She was always mistaken as some sort of goth girl, but it kept the superficial humans away, so she couldn't complain. She was craving physical food now, contrary to her usual state of mind, and so she had venture here to buy some.
She didn't like that there were so many people here in the food court, but at the same time she did; it was a foreshadowing of her duality that appeared in many of her likes and dislikes. There was always a salvaging or condemning feature. She could never completely be fond of one thing or another, and dislike its opposite. She sighed, thoughts of her own psyche making her a bit depressed, and she wordlessly ventured over to the nearest burger joint and purchased something. She had the afternoon to do away with; she was out of school, there was no homework in most of her classes today and she'd done away with whatever work she did have before coming here. Even as she sat in her solitary table, glancing around before taking a very unlady-like bit out of her food. She was very hungry.

Ayaka felt a sharp prick on the back her neck. She looked around the room out the corners of eyes. For a few seconds to the right and the other seconds to the left. She then looked passed the young man that was in front of her. Nothing.
"I must be letting this place get to me..." she said to herself.
She then notice the young man had headphone, which just had to mean that he didn't hear a word she said. Again, something like that would have cause blood in someone's clam chowder and there was no need for that.
And the fact that it sound like he was hitting on her was bad enough. These humans... she thought. Lets have a little fun...
"Ah, yes," she spoke, "I saw that name before. You are in my class tomorrow?" She got out of her chair and walked behind the young man.
"Don't be late, lover boy." she simply said as she left her notebook on the table and walked away out of sight.

Kim felt odd as she said something to herself, thinking of what people would think if they saw him sitting at the table with what looked like an attractive-ish teacher. She was obviously not very old, he'd yet to see any of his teachers eating at the usual student haunts so he was very curious as to how long she'd been out of school herself. He wasn't very interested in her but the fact that someone so young was so studious brought professional interest, she may have a bit of knowledge to drain.
Then she actually addressed him, making it obvious that she was very much a teacher, and apparently the new instructor everyone had been wondering about. He wasn't all that impressed, the class had been unattended for a month now, so he wasn't keen on losing a free hour of random substitute giving busywork. She also seemed about ready to leave, though this made Kim a bit happier he wasn't so happy that she was walking behind him.
Kim turned his head when she walked around him, not bothering to move anything else, perhaps making the action look somewhat more intimate then intended as he gazed up at her. She spoke again, and much to his discomfort took his words as flirting and made a like comment. Kim sighed as she walked away, looking back to his table.
"Great, the new teacher's a slut," Kim said to himself in disdain. "No wonder she got her degree so young, she probably sucked off every professor in her school."
Kim looked around and noticed the few new customers, among them was a woman chomping away at her food.
"Ew, fucking skinny cow," Kim turned his headphones up to a blaring volume that could easily drown any conversation near him. "she's probably fingering her throat after every meal too, definitely needs to re-tune her life."
Kim gave a mild tremor of disgust before heading to the front of the establishment to purchase a burger and fries before seating himself again to eat.

Chrysanthemum's sensitive ears surely caught the pretentious tone of the boy who was sitting near her. His insult didn't even make any sense. What sort of bovine animal was skinny? None of them were. Had he taken biology in the fifth grade?
In any case, it was a very mean thing to say, and despite the nonsensical composition of the comment, it still hurt. She hadn't done anything--she hadn't even known this guy and was just seeing him for the first time.
"You know," she said, fighting back tears that she knew this guy didn't deserve, "You sitting there with your smug smile, you don't know me. And if you're going to insult someone behind her back, at least do with correctly. You don't even know how to whisper."

Kim had made decent progress with his meal, as he did so he noticed the abandoned notebook left by his new teacher. Kim shook his head and collected the item, stashing it in his own bag before taking his next bite of cheap processed meat. His mind anywhere but on the people around him as he tuned himself into his music. He took a moment to realize that there was a potentially troublesome drama developing with him in the center of it. The she cow he'd commented on earlier had apparently heard him, or at least that's what he figured from her swimming eyes and agitated demeanor. He wasn't quite sure but it looked like she was telling him off, thus he returned his attention to her with a blank stare.
His obviously uncaring eyes not intending to mean harm would likely spur only a deeper reaction from her without his need to speak. The music in his ears thankfully drowning out every worthless word she spat from her grass chomping lips. And though Kim really felt no reason for him to be reprimanded he wondered just what may have caught her sensitivity switch, so he graciously paused his tranquil melody to make room in his senses for her gripes.
"don't know me. And if you're going to insult someone behind her back, at least do with correctly. You don't even know how to whisper."
Kim smiled, he caught enough to get the gist of the situation, and he'd failed to dispatch his last female correctly. He slid his meal to the side and turned in his chair making it blatantly obvious that she was at the center of his melodic universe. He nodded in a deep sign of understanding and closed his eyes to accept the revelation she'd laid upon him as to the wrongfulness of his ways.
"You know," he began with a serious and sweet note to his voice. "You're right." he admitted, quickly stringing together what he'd heard with what he was used to hearing.
"I have no idea who you are and I frankly should never make such a statement as my introduction," he smiled charmingly and continued with his apology "I'm Kim, and I feel terrible for this, see I have a judgmental personality only because I'm better then you. I only meant to say that you eat like a common barnyard animal ready for slaughter and that you are likely victim to emotional issues wrought of your failings as a human being. Now.. next time you show yourself in public you should take into account what you've heard from me and understand your station in this existence. If you don't like the comments your actions breed don't act in that fashion. If the judgments people have due to your sloppy and disgusting table manners your should fix your fuck up so I won't have to waste my time telling you again that you are a slaughterhouse's dream heifer. I do regret that I wasn't kind enough to address your disgusting nature with you face to face from the beginning, but as my classes are now concluded we can discuss in great detail how boorishly gluttonous you are. Hell, we can even talk about what you can do to become worthy of my time. You know, the time you are currently waisting with your self esteem issues."
Kim went silent and watched her with the utmost regard to her feelings. He was apparently being as kind as he knew how, and spoke with all the sincerity he had in him. Though, he knew full well his social standing was that of a mushroom in a game of rock, paper, scissors, but why should he care?

Chrysanthemum was flabbergasted. What could she even say to someone who would say such things about another human being? She had never been so insulted in her life. If only he knew what she could do, if only he knew that she could reach into his brain and pull out the things that terrified him most and make them a reality for him. She took a deep breath, and found that they were becoming shorter. She was becoming more and more upset by the minute.
She looked at her tray, irritated by the helplessness of her situation. She could injure him, take hold of him with her abilities and crush him. But she really couldn't. She couldn't do anything. She couldn't touch him. Despite being angered to tears, she knew what sort of consequences would fall upon her and her father if she did something like that.
Without warning, she grabbed the tray and threw it in his direction. "You are a DICK!" she said, screaming the last word with everything she had in her. The sound was hoarse, although someone had been beating her when she said it, and indeed, she felt beaten by his words. There was no reason why anyone in his position should have any reason to be so cruel and evil. She turned after speaking, not bothering to look back and see if any damage had been done. She didn't care. She could feel the eyes on her, see security rushing in the direction of the boy, and she didn't care. She hadn't hit him. She hadn't injured him, so it didn't matter.

Kim wasn't expecting a great reaction, but he was waiting with a bit of anticipation. He watched her expression, waiting for the words to sink in. Though, no matter how he figured it he wasn't really afraid of the outcome. At worse she chucks something at him or slaps him, at best she cries and runs off without saying anything. Kim was hoping for the latter of the two but he knew he'd crossed the line pretty far. I wonder if I should apologize or something... I went a bit further then I should have. Kim's usual attitude wasn't great but insults as harsh as his recent one were saved for real evil women, not strangers that hadn't done anything wrong.
Kim moved his lips to plead forgiveness in the name of his own vanity when the she cow screeched and threw her tray at him. Kim threw up his hands and attempted to stop food and plastic from smacking him in the face. He moved to exaggeratedly and caused himself to flip backward in his chair, and spill awkwardly unto the floor. His head hit the floor and he saw a white flash as the force of his body weight pressed against the back of his head.
The mildly wounded student rolled over on his stomach and tottered to his feet, a bit woozy from his crash, and looked around for the girl. He felt a bit bad about being so cruel, and was lucky enough to catch her dart out the door. Security came to help him up and a few curious onlookers attempted to step forward to confront him. Kim brushed them off and ran out after the stranger he'd so rudely attempted to crush under his pay-less sneakers.
The moment he broke free of the diner's after-lunch crowd he shouted out to her at the top of his lungs.
"HEY WAIT UP!!!" his voice nearly breaking as his foot hit a curb nearly causing him to make another tumble. He stabled up a bit only to yell out again. "Seriously hold on for a sec, please?"

Unfortunately, Chrysanthemum had no intention of waiting up whatsoever. Who did this guy think he was? Insulting her and then asking her to wait for a conference with him after she decided to leave. He was a prick, he was a terrible boy and if she could help it she would never see him or have to deal with him again. All she wanted to do was go home. She wasn't even hungry anymore. And although her hunger was important in more ways than one, his comment had honestly hurt her feelings. Even though he could not have possibly known what she was, it was a difficult struggle, being the limbo race being two superior ones. It took everything in her not to pull out thoughts of the boy being chased by a monster, not being squeezed slowly to death, and make it a reality. She couldn't risk it. She just wanted to leave this accursed place so that she could get some food, and then some sleep. She would go home. And then her father would make her something to eat and then she get some sleep. That's the plan she set for herself in her head, and she pulled the dark hood of her robe over her head as she emerged out of the wall and into the day time sun. She looked back to make sure that he wasn't following her, and stepped a bit faster on the sidewalk.
