[This thread takes place during and most likely extends until after the Aftermath thread.] This was the fountain that Avalon had been thinking of. One of the many that populated the space near Rei's--now Jiishita's--castle. Unfortunately, in his desperation to get away from the battle, Avalon's magic had dropped them into the fountain itself; thankfully, it was not very deep and for display and leisure only. They had been lucky. Very lucky. If it hadn't been for Tomo, they would have had a much more large endeavor before them. As they appeared, a group of Fallen dispersed, one of the females shrieking as though they had seen something terrifying. Surely the woman had seen someone teleport into a pool of water before? The smile had begun to display itself on Avalon's face before he remembered his current situation, and he turned to see if everyone was alright. The baby? Was Rakeru alright? Had the Elves let go of him?

Alfeo landed with a very definite plop, the child in his arms crying as they both hit the ground. He smiled, looking down at the child and feeling the magic cast by Arya earlier protecting him against the water. He had fallen in a sitting position, luckily, and the water itself had only splash in the baby's direction, blocked by shield, and the impact was the only feeling Rakeru experienced. Alfeo sighed, setting his hand down on the ground to steady himself and finding that it, like the rest of him, was wet. He sighed again, out of annoyance, but said nothing. He was sure that Avalon had done the best that he could with his magic. He was glad to be away from both the Dragon and the crazy man with the fire.
Alvar, with his sister in his arms, landed with a flop that made Alfeo laugh. It was not funny, however, when he realized that he had landed on top of his sister. He pulled her quickly from underneath the water, dragging her with a fierce but strangled cry out of the fountain, onto the ground, and quickly delivering CPR procedure to pump any water out of her lungs. Soon enough, she spat up and was breathing. They were deep, shuddering breaths that absolutely scared the shit out of her brother. "Get her attention, now!" Of course, many of those who had been in the courtyard before had gone for help, and even as he spoke he could see the soldiers running towards them, wearing armor and brandishing weapons. Of course. It would make sense. They were intruders and no one knew who they were. Still, the desire to fight a bit more burned within Alvar...perhaps he should have stayed back at the castle, but it was easier for him to take care of his sister rather than pawn her off on tightknickers here (Avalon).
He raised his hands in a surrendering gesture. As much as he wanted to fight, he was in a foreign city and that wouldn't make things better.

Yomi writhed in pain. The landing from that stupid idiot's magic was not comforting at all. As per usual, he was a failure in his endeavors. Why did Tomo hang about this prick? She groaned, slightly, pushing herself from a face full of water to lie on her back. She felt her wounds bleeding again, through her clothes, and she noticed that it was seeping into the water, along with ash and other things left on their clothing from Tai's last onslaught. She saw a piece of ice loosen itself from her clothing and melt, and it only reminded her of what exactly they had left their Ha-ou to deal with. Her and that...little blue man. She didn't like Migoto's personality at all. He was a loafter, a laze-about...and it seemed that more often than not Sanada surrounded herself with those sorts of people these days.
She couldn't move, and the pain from struggling to be upright overwhelmed her, almost. She panted and said aloud, not knowing if any of those imbeciles were listening to her--"I can't move." She wouldn't dare ask for help, but...

Desmond was a demon on guard at the palace. Since Jiishita-sama had moved in he was intent on keeping his transition to the throne as smooth as possible. Quite a few people were upset about Rei's removal, and there had even been some attack attempts made while giving a speech about his remorse. Many of the denizens didn't know exactly who Takaishi Jiishita was, or what he had done, but the fact that he was related to Rei-sama was enough for him.
Things had settled down, recently, and so when Desmond saw the few Fallen running, one woman screaming in panic as she fled from the castle, he immediately took a guard with him, stationing the two he would leave behind to watch the main entrance of the castle, and found himself approaching a group of people in one of the fountains. How on earth had they gotten there.
"Was there word from the layer gate?" he asked the fallen beside him, named Nicholae. He shook his head. "Then how the fuu..."
...there was blood in the water. Either one of them was injured or they had just come from killing someone else. It was difficult to tell because they were all wet. One of them was carrying a baby. Was it some sort of strange demonspawn. Where in Seiryuu had they come from?
"You there..." he said awkwardly, brandishing his Staff. "...all of you. What is your business here? I will attack without warning if i don't hear the right answer." He looked at Nicholae for support, and the young man unsheathed his own sword.
One of them was on the ground, panting like she was definitely injured, and another man--an elf, from the magic that he felt in the presence of these people--to be exact. In fact, the Dream magic that he felt emanating from the group caused him to be slightly on edge. Tapping a small chink in his armor, revealing it as a communicator, he spoke into it. "...contact the King. Jiishita needs to see this for himself. We have some...rather peculiar intruders in the front courtyard. Left fountain coming out of the door.

Maybe Alvar thought he had the right idea, surrendering to those guards, but they need some shelter now. He didn't have time to go through with the whole prisoner routine. "Yes, you had better contact Jiishita. We don't have time for this. I'm Avalon Carrister, right hand to the Lord Yami-ou, Sanada Tomoyo. Her castle is under attack and I was charged with bringing these occupants into safe hands. The Yami-ou's magic is what brought us here."
He sighed, looking back at Alfeo and the child. "In his arms," he breathed, pointing to the elf, "...is the child of the Yami-ou." his voice was hushed, and he hoped that such would be enough evidence for them all to be taken in. He didn't have any documents on her to represent his position or station, and all he had was his own word and the King's ability to recognize him.

Post by Takaishi Jiishita on Mar 24, 2010 17:25:54 GMT -4
Jiishita was at his desk, looking at some of Rei's old documents. He had doing this for quite a while. Rei had a lot of old things to look over, and it seemed that she had passed these things to some of her servants and also employees. He was surprised at the kinds of requests that were taken in; fallen wanting specifically built homes and some wanting permission to go to Heaven to see their loved ones with her endorsement; those who were petitioning for the merging of layers and other such ludicrous ideas...there was a plethora of requests here, and Jiishita wanted to know how she got through them all.
Jiishita glanced at the room next to his, the door open for him to see; Chikara herself was asleep. Probably playing a game or exploring the castle or whatever it was that she did while he was working. Since they moved to the castle, Chikara had gone back to their apartment in the Mortal Realm and cleaned out almost the entire thing. They were here now, of course, and she didn't want to be separated from him. In Chikara's own words, Ruling Hell could be just as much of a chore as ruling Heaven. The fact was that Jiishita had the opportunity this time, and because they were allowed to be together, unlike the last time in Heaven he had accepted the request. But then again, Jiishita had sympathized with Tomo's goal for quite some time and didn't mind helping out. And considering that he had lost his fight, all of those years ago, to the ruthless Mikage Tsubasa, being offered a position of power was Jiishita's small way of making things up to Chikara.
It was then that a guard, clad in armor the way that he had found Rei dressed them, made his way to the desk. The pounding of metal on his feet sounded against the marble floors.
"Missive from Desmond at the entrance. Your presence is requested."
"For what, exactly?" Jiishita demanded gently. He didn't want to be sent out into the courtyard for nothing. There was a number of things that still required his approval at the desk.
It took a moment, but the soldier answered. "There are intruders on the grounds claiming that they are refugees from an attack on Tomo's castle. There is a man named Avalon with them, and also a kid."
This name was one that Jiishita knew because that was Avalon was Tomo's servant. And a child? That could only mean one thing. "I'm on my way," he said with a smile. "...what was your name?"
"Islaiel."
"I will remember that."
*~*
It took a moment for him to get out there to see what the report had been about and he found himself faced by so many people, all looking put out. What had happened to them. Yomi was laying in the fountain, blood pouring out of her; despite the graveness of the situation, it took everything he had not to laugh at her. Whatever had happened to her, she probably deserved it. Luckily, no one else was injured as badly as her.
An elf was holding the child that Islaiel mentioned before. Rakeru. I had to be.
"Get them all inside, quickly."

Avalon was grateful for Jiishita's help. It was honestly his kind nature that Avalon think that he would be a very fine ruler for the fifth layer. They had been under Rei's harsh hand for a long time, and while it was an asset it was also a set back. Avalon had known of Chikara and Jiishita for a while--who didn't, exactly?--but Lady Tomoyo had maintained confidence in Chikara and Jiishita's balance; although Chikara wasn't ruling the layer, her opinion would help bring a check system into play with Jiishita's decisions. Jiishita had brought out a few more guards to help them up out of the fountain, and a stretcher for Yomi, who only grit her teeth and shouted obscenities when someone tried to sit her up. She was pale, by this time, and not doing very well at all. By the time that they were binding her wounds and sending her off to the nearest healing facility to help stem the bleeding on her injuries, Yomi had passed out from exhaustion. Jiishita was kind, and upon asking for a soft bed for Rakeru, found that they'd already had one ready, from when Rakeru had visited before. Avalon, of course, had not been aware of the babe actually venturing forth out of the castle, and this surprised him. Did Tomoyo truly trust the pair that much. "I appreciate all of your help," Avalon said, sitting in an office where Jiishita--and now, Chikara--were pouring through the paperwork that sat on his desk. It was not nearly as much as that on Tomo's own, but there was a substantial amount there. Chikara was throwing some of it away, and it occurred to Avalon that they were perhaps sifting through the remains of Rei's estate. The Elves were also seated in a room--Alvar and Alfeo had refused to send Arya to an emergency infirmary, preferring instead to remain in a strange mental stasis as they poured in their power to help their unconscious sister. She seemed to have more fainted than anything else, despite the various scratches on her. "Lady Tomoyo is in a very difficult state at the moment," he said, his mind wandering back to the very recent memory of leaving the seventh layer. "She is being attacked by a Dragon." He went on to recount the scene and the treachery caused by both the Dragon and also Taiyou, although he did include that there was the issue with the Ishii Shoko making a reappearance, and he went on to explain further what had transpired so far as the former King of Hell's attempt to ceceed his layer and oppose the Yami-ou.
