[This takes place directly after the thread "Disjointed" in the Devil Saints Headquarters, and not actually in NYC >.> Also: short narrative, so there aren't as many details as I would like.]
There was rain, but Tomo liked rain, and that was good. She was still feeling the high from Sara's soft touches, her moans and her sighs; it was good being in the Mortal Realm again, tasting the unnecessary tastes and seeing the unnecessary sights. It made her feel at home, almost. Rakeru wasn't by her side at the moment, and while she trusted Jiishita and Chikara she didn't think that there was anything that could reply the empty feeling in her arms from holding him. Sara had filled that space for a time, while she was having fun in the office, but now she was alone. The only thing cheering her up was the rain, because she was now soaking wet. It would have made sense for her to make it back to the hotel she had booked for the next two weeks [at Le Chateau, no less; it was one of the best hotels around], but she didn't quite want to head there yet.
Many of the people on the streets with their umbrellas were staring at her as though she was strange, some with sadness because they were aware of the fact that she was soaking wet. That was Humans for you. They had the potential to care even about things that didn't concern them. It reminded her of The Celestial race, to be honest; It wasn't anything new, especially considering that Humans had been created first.
There were a few street lamps on as she continued walking, but she paused in an alleyway after hearing some rustling. She hoped that there wasn't anyone following her; she wasn't in the mood to have to fight, not after her meeting at the Devil Saints.
"Mew..." she heard, and she stepped a bit closer. Tomoyo sighed. Of course, a stray cat. She approached the alleyway, looking, and it wasn't very difficult to find.
"Oh~!" Tomoyo cooed in a sing song voice. The kitten's fur was a bit damp but it had managed to take shelter under a bag. Tomoyo scooped it up on her arms, and the kitten made a hissing sound but didn't seem to struggle against her. It fell limp, as though it was resigned to its fate. Holding it in her left arm, she went to pet it with the other and found that there was blood smeared on its coat. It was injured. "Well," she said, cuddling it the same way that she did Rakeru, "I suppose I'll take care of you...at least, until I get tired of you. I wonder what cat meat tastes like..." she joked with a chuckle, and took off toward Le Chateau.
