As per your votes and inputs, I'm closing the poll and resetting the rules so that there are no character restrictions on what character it is that newcomers create.
In exchange, there is now a rule stating that you must have 75 posts with one character before you can create another character--i.e., a character that requires a separate account. You're free, of course, to create NPCs for companions and the like. Just be wary of the fact that other player characters can kill your NPCs at any time.
Also, I reserve the right to revoke a character's profile at my whim if I feel that you're going to abuse the system or that you're up to no good with a character that you're creating.
