Kim found himself happily at home, something he never thought could happen in the loud rinky dink place he stayed in to save his money. His scholarship hadn't covered housing, though it covered books and meals so it was fair. Kim had too much to think about and he'd been skipping one particular class this week. It was uncommon for him but he figured the witch would understand and leave him alone, it wasn't like he could fail such a simple class anyway. His small thin walled apartment was unfurnished for the most part. Actually, except for the musical instruments and related equipment he had nothing but a hammock and the stove and fridge that were there when he moved in. His mind was cool but he hadn't slept more then three hours at a time since his encounter with the hellion creature.
Kim rolled himself from the top of his piano, a lovely thing that cost him what he'd saved for his tuition in case his scholarship didn't land. He lifted the key guard and ran his fingers across the keys. His mind was soothed by unplayed cords, then his fingers caught up and Chopin rang through the thin walls of his home. The place always seemed quieter as he played, as if the arguments and anger in the place calmed for his songs. He played a version of Vivaldi's winter until his mind swayed again. He played Beethoven's love story, feeling the emotion drag from the music, it made him chuckle lightly to think a love song he played in his single life had the kind of emotion it did. Kim's love for the music itself was portrayed by his playing and the sound was as a miracle should be.
Kim stopped slowly and stood up, his long sleeve T hung loosely and the cool breeze of the night ran up the leg of his black cargo pants. The green shirt pulled back as the wind struck and settled as the breath of the night slipped back into the outside. It was like the breathing night was begging for his encore, and the noise beyond his walls rose again.
"Damned Demons and Angels and everything in between. This is really killing me muse. Maybe I can just let it all solve itself..." Kim question himself aloud.
Kim walked out to the balcony of his 8th story window and sat on the ledge. He leaned his back to the brick wall and let one leg dangle off above the deadly distance earth beneath him. He reach to his left where the safety of a cement floor held his violin and lifted it to his chin. He plucked the strings, naturally he never left it out of tune so it was no issue. The the alluring sound of Ave Maria cried into the night. He closed his eyes and let himself sway left, over the safety of his balcony, to right, over the deadly plunge to earth. He felt the wind brace him as the night breathed, and again things quieted for his music. Kim wondered when his life would return to normal after the encounter with the mythical. Or if maybe his encounters were only beginning.
