It had been several months since Czar and Korah had landed in the Mortal Realm. They'd been greeted by an Elder Dragon named Draco Senex Prime--he had been very kind and had encouraged them on their journey. But since then, Korah had become very distracted from her objective. She took to the culture of Humans very easily self absorbed creatures as they were, and other than finding accommodations in terms of rooming she had done little on her search for the Chosen One.
Czar was left in the dwelling Korah called an apartment for quite some time during the day. He was left to his brooding as well as meditation, which made things even more annoying: he had just had a full day to reflect on the fact that Korah spent her whole day doing nothing. Out with friends, probably new Humans friends, that he could have consumed in a heartbeat.
When the girl came home on this particular day, Czar growled venomously, "What have you been out doing all day, girl? You need to stop lolligagging and search for the Chosen One."
"I AM!" Korah said, taking something off from around her waist. "But it's hard in the Human world. Everything costs money here. I have work, Czar, to make enough money so that we can travel. We're lucky that the humans here are so nice. It was very hard to get this job in the first place! I have no experience at being a waitress.
"At being a what?"
"A waitress. I server food to Humans, Czar." The Dragon scoffed. "I can't believe that you subject yourself to such a state. What are you doing?"
"I'm working!" Korah was growing tired of trying to explain this to the old fashioned Dragon. "Listen up, Czar. In this world, you have to have money for everything. This apartment that we have now is only because of the money I make working all day. here, everything belongs to someone else. You must pay to use their resources. And everything here is considered a resource."
"Everything?"
"Everything. I'm saving up for us so that we can travel, but we can't go anywhere without money. Even if I fly and cloak myself, I still have to stay somewhere. We need money for that, Czar. Money. It's always money. And you need to work to get it."
Czar found himself stunned. "What a greedy societal structure."
"Korah was irritated. Now Czar had decided to listen to her. "I've been slaving day in and day out, and with the exception of paying rent, saving money for you. And me. so that we can go many places and see many people, and eventually find the Chosen One. I haven't found a single Dragon in this city since I've been here, so I don't believe that spotting him will be easy. There are other magical creatures about, though."
"You've seen some of these 'other creatures?'"
"Yes. They're very nice, too. Now I need you to remember everything that I just told you and not bother me every night because I'm doing as much as I can, okay?"
"...I suppose..."
