There are 21 elements in the Kiseki universe, each with their own jurisdictions and features. Each element has their own Ruling Elemental Spirit, as well as elemental sprites that serve under them.
Legend:
DP - Damage Potential, usually expressed as an integer based on the average collective damage of one elemental [collective based on realm-terms, not individual/personal damage]. It should not be used to compare the powers of the elements or those who wield them--it is in use for members to know how much damage each element has done to this RPG, on a scale of one to nine.
Emotion - elementals can generally cause a singular emotional reaction [either positive or negative - each sphere has both] within the individual attuned to them. The reaction varies in degrees, based on the human's level of interaction and general susceptibility to that element. It is, for example, much easier for a fire mage to lose control of their anger than it is for most humans and other mages. Such emotional attachment is also seen in the natural spheres, although no satisfactory explanation has manifested.
Fire
[AVG DP - 6] explosive, projectile, heat, flame
[emotion] passion, anger
[attribute] wit
Air
[AVG DP - 5] wind, blast, haze, scent
[emotion] joy, inconsistency
[attribute] communication, change
Water
[AVG DP - 4] liquid; toxin, erode, force
[emotion] peace, depression
[attribute] beauty
Ice
[AVG DP - 5] freeze, cold, sharpen, spear
[emotion] caution, suspicion
[attribute] judgmental
Earth
[AVG DP - 4] solid; weight, strength, slow
[emotion] logic, stubbornness
[attribute] balance
[additional notes] While earth elementals are as potentially dangerous as fire elementals, study has indicated that most earth elementals no longer exist in their truest states on the debilitated planet. Alloys and man-made substances contain weak earth elementals that have proved sluggish at best.
Metal
[AVG DP - 6] sift, mold, compress, blend, form
[emotion] creativity, redundancy
[attribute] introversion
[additional notes] This was an element made to keep usage of Earth materials at full capacity, since the pollution of the world prevents the Earth element by itself from functioning at full power.
Spirit
[AVG DP - 6] bind, steal, control, construct, commune
[emotion] compassion, confusion
[attribute] unity
[additional notes] Because of their attunement, these mages can see all spirits and all elementals. They are hard-pressed to manipulate the elementals as an elementally-attuned mage can do, and can usually only elicit desired effects if the particular elementals are willing. Their spiritual attunement, however, makes them more dangerous than an elemental one on an individual level: they have the potential to bind a disembodied spirit, or even steal that spirit's energy and any gifts that spirit might hold.
Light
[AVG DP - 8] lightning; illumination, electricity, speed
[emotion] enlightenment, insanity
[attribute] clarity of thoughts / actions
[additional notes] On a wide scale, lightning elementals have more potential damage than all other elementals. Those attuned to them still must be delicate in handling them - they aren't for the foolish or ignorant.
Dark
[AVG DP - 8] shroud, shadow, merge, shape, absorb
[emotion] enlightenment, insanity
[attribute] clarity of thoughts / actions
[additional notes] Dark, contrary to popular belief, is not the opposite of Light; their powers do not negate each other. They are sister elements--two sides of the same coin, if you will--which is why the dangers and advantages for handling both elements are the same, as are the emotions and attributes.
Void
[AVG DP - 7] life/death; necromancy
[emotion] simultaneity; hope and despair
[attribute] paradox; the unknown
[additional notes] While the void is not typically an element, such creatures do exist that can carry souls to and from bodies, or inhabit bodies once the souls have left. It is usually unwise to tap into the realm of these beings, as they can easily manipulate and destroy the human mind/sanity.
Sound
[AVG DP - 6] volume, pulse, wave, shock
[emotion] abrasiveness, protecting
[attribute] lack of thought
Past
[AVG DP - 0] history; memories, imprints
[emotion] wistfulness, regret
[attribute] nostalgia
[additional notes] Those attuned to the past most often need to touch an object, and that object's history becomes their own. They live it, and for a brief time become one with it, until such connection is broken. No known damage has been caused by this sphere, as it exists in the past and cannot tamper with the present.
Present
[AVG DP - 2] vision, acuity, force of will
[emotion] determination, headstrong
[attribute] willpower, luck
[additional notes] On a wide scale, little damage potential exists within this element; on an individual scale, caution needs to be taken on all points. These attuned mages have the potential to manipulate present circumstances through sheer force of will [something attributed most often to luck]. Their potential lies elsewhere as well, but that point alone is enough to exercise caution.
Future
[AVG DP - 0] vision, foresight
[emotion] desire, fear
[attribute] choices, opportunities
Mind
[AVG DP - 3] mentality, thought, suggestion, telepathy, telekinesis
[emotion] objectivity, apathy
[attribute] intelligence
Insight
[AVG DP - 2] sense, true intentions, empathy
[emotion] understanding, pity
[attribute] emotion
Law
[AVG DP - 4] mend, interpret
[emotion] certainty, assumption
[attribute] order, definition, boundaries, limitations
[additional notes] The most useful gift those attuned to this nature seem to have is the ability to mend objects bound by some set of rules [or any man-made object / machine, for that matter].
Chaos
[AVG DP - 9] disunity, discord
[emotion] unpredictability, uncertainty
[attribute] destruction, calamity, disorder, the limitless, the immeasurable
[additional notes] Those with attunement in this element seem to either be completely insane, or have some odd curse of causing variant levels of entropy with everything around them. Most often this is attributed to bad luck. Things often fall apart when they shouldn't - object-wise, relationship-wise, etc.
Dream
[AVG DP - 4] anomaly
[emotion] hope, embarrassment
[attribute] imagination, escape
[additional notes] Two forms of attunement have been noted in this field: they have been labeled the dream-walkers, and the dream-weavers. Both have the ability to intrude on dreams, but the weavers seem to be able to manipulate and even create dreams.
Time
[AVG DP - ?] anomaly
[emotion] patience, haste
[attribute] longevity
[additional notes] There is one sub-class of specialty for this element: the time-walkers. Time-walking is a simple ability to displace oneself outside the boundaries of time.
Force
[AVG DP - 8] push, pull, float, crush
[emotion] delicacy, obsession
[attribute] overwhelming
[additional notes] Because of the extremity of this element (which has been compare to Chaos), those who attempt to master this must be extremely careful. One is three times as more likely to destroy themselves than to hurt others with this particular element.
