Oracle stood afar watching Akuma Shadow. His smirk that was as wide as his tall tales was bright enough to illuminate the next block. He made sure he kept his distance, keeping Shadow on his toes and under his belt, making sure he was making the moves that he wanted him to make. Then he felt someone take off his hood. Oracle made his grin cover his teeth as he mumbled a moan. "Well, hello there," he said without looking behind him.

Tomo appeared seemingly out of nowhere; it had been a short while since he had spoken with Oracle, and he customarily used his male form when speaking to him. Oh, the memories.
"Oracle..." Tomo said, a small... something added to her voice just for him. "It's been a while. What's been going on with you these days?"

Oracle closed his eyes while listening to Tomo's voice. It was soothing to him in so many ways. "Oh, you know," Oracle said, "the same-old same-old. Things have been somewhat... stiff around me." He glanced back at Tomo. "What about you?" he asked softly. "I thought you never wanted to see me again?"

"...yes...there was that stipulation, wasn't there...?" he mentioned offhandedly. "...I don't appreciate being undermined, Oracle. Used, as a pawn; manipulated. I do not like it. I will not tolerate it. And that is why I said that I did not want to see you. Honestly, though, I enjoy your company; I like your...unpredictability." Tomo smirked. "You're good in bed, too. That always helps..." Licking her lips seductively, she continued. "And you run a good risk of seeing me again when you're following an employee of mine. I assume that there's a reason for this that won't result in me tearing your head from your shoulders?" Despite the gory, Tomo kept her voice in seductive tones; the tone that she knew that Oracle would like...

Oracle closed his eyes and started to picture the last time the two of them were covered in such an warmth embrace as the one that Tomo was starting to form in his mind. He bit his bottom lip as he started to become activated through Tomo's seductive voice. "Hmm, you always made death sound so... lustful," he said as he turned toward Tomo. Already knowing that he was in his male form, Oracle kissed him deeply. He felt his face and played with his hair at the same time, twirling it in a circular motion.
Oracle then released the lips of his once-loved lover and continued to scope out Shadow. He placed his hands behind his back, keeping his fingers freely moving about. "Your employee came to me, love," Oracle explained. "Not a bad guy at all. Kind of cute, too." He paused as he looked back at Tomo to see his reaction. Then he looked back over the horizon that the skyscraper they were on top of gave them. "Apparently," Oracle continued, "he found out that I could put an en,d to his emotional conflicts by fusing his lust and rage back within himself with my power over the void. I agreed, only if he did me a favor..."

It was the first time in his life that Tomo actually wanted to push someone away from him; he was married--but Oracle had pressed lips against him and pulled them away so quickly that Tomo couldn't have done anything about it. He clasped his hands together.
"Oracle! You can't do that anymore! I'm married, remember?" Tomo said in agitated tones. "Listen. I have a husband and I'm married and I love him, and you must stop doing things like that."
Taking a deep breath, Tomo addressed the matters at hand. "And if Shadow came to you for a service, what are you asking from him in return? I know you; it won't be anything simple."

Oracle knew about Tomo's situation. He was at the wedding after all. He even understood Tomo's dedication, which evidently others kept denying that he had in the first place. He continued to watch Shadow's movements, still acknowledging Tomo behind him.
"Shadow is getting rid of a little infestation problem, if you will," Oracle told Tomo in a certain choice of words. "He's in the process of looking for him now and I'm just watching for the sport of it." Oracle knew that he said too much by saying 'him.' But he still did not worry that Tomo would go warn a person who he knows that he doesn't know. Well, at least he think he doesn't.
"So," he said as he looked back at Tomo, "how is Ren by the way? I haven't seen him since the wedding."

[thank you for modifiying this. In the future, if I send you a PM about changing something, could you please send me a reply saying that you'll do it? That way I'll know that I can keep checking--you've had this changed for a little while and I didn'tk now because you didn't send me a reply.]
Because Shadow was someone that Tomo liked, he decided that he would keep watch over the boy as well; it would also give him an excuse to stay by Oracle until he worked up the courage to tell him that he was going to have a child with Ren. The Yami-ou could already feel the sting of the question as he answered it.
"Um...Ren? Well, Ren's doing okay...I suppose...I mean...yeah...he's okay."

Oracle looked over at Tomo, who - to him - seemed a little distraught. The answer wasn't at all spoken in a confident form that told Oracle that everything was going fine and his life was being lived as of that in a fairy tale. Oracle could always find a way to creep in to turn the situation to his advantage, but this weirdly was not one of those times. Because through his love for Tomo that already existed within his being, he was worried for him.
Oracle knew that he could not touch him the way that he wanted to. He couldn't kiss him; he couldn't arouse him in any way sexually because he was not his anymore; he hand to accept that. But when a person has affected your life in a way that makes you want to be there to help that person in any way possible, you want to do anything in your power to make them feel better about themselves and rely on you a little. Even if it involves a little non-sexual intimacy.
Oracle gently touched Tomo's hand, caressing it slowly and softly. His eyes were sincere and wore a look of concern; a look he had not shown anyone else but the one he was looking at now. "Whats wrong...?" he asked softly.

"I..." Tomo was surprised at the tone of Oracle's voice; he had never, throughout the entirety of their relationship, sounded quite like that--Oracle, Tomo realized, really cared.
Racking his free hand through his hair, Tomo let the dark locks fall across his face, red eyes looking directly at Oracle as he said, "...I'm thinking about having a child...with Ren. But I don't know...there are a lot of complications with his family, and..." Tomo trailed off, not knowing how to explain it. "...his family wants an heir, someone to rule the family later...but the Yamazaki are horrible people, and I don't want...I don't want my child--the first child I will have ever carried myself--to be raised like that. The way that Ren was raised." A pause. "...and, in addition to this...I'm...sort of...in doubt about Ren's loyalties...he's...still attached to Heaven...and I don't want him to betray me...I...I wouldn't be able to stand it if he betrayed me."
The end result of her first monogamous relationship--the one she'd had in her past life--still left her scarred on the inside. She didn't want to be alone again, by herself and searching in vain for a soulmate that fate would not allow her to find.

Oracle exhaled loudly, making sure that it was not mistaken to Tomo as a sigh. He continued to caress Tomo's hand, trying to calm him down and thinking about what should escape his lips at the same time. After gathering his thoughts, he finally asked the question he always wanted to ask Tomo. "What do you want to do?"

Tomo said, "I want...I want to have my own child." There was no other answer to give on that point; he was tired of other women having control over his children--he wanted to be able to help his child choose it's own destiny.
While she was apprehensive about being so open in a relationship, about being hurt by someone or having someone make her hurt herself, she knew that she wanted a family; something she'd had as a child but had been unable to keep after adolescence. She wanted a place where she felt like home...

"Understand this, love," Oracle said in his soft and caring voice. "Whatever it is that ails you, always know that what you choose to do is the most important thing in your life." Oracle used his free hand to raise Tomo's head. As they locked eyes, Oracle stroked his cheek after gently moving his hair away from his eyes. "You will never be alone in this life," he said sincerely. "You deserve everything you want. And if this is the one you want to have your child with, then that is your choice. Just remember that as long as I am living, you will never be alone." Oracle gave Tomo a gently and friendly kiss on the forehead and leaned his head on Tomo's. "I love you, Yami-Ou," he said softly. "I love you and I always will..."

Those words were the most surprising of all, coming from Oracle. Tomo had not expected anything near the comment that had just been made. He'd heard the words before, but almost never with such passion. He knew, by way of his own racial gift, that the man before him was not lying; he knew that there was no act of betrayal, no mainpulation behind his words.
And, in part, that scared him.
He was sure that even Ren had never uttered those words to him with quite that much meaning, and that someone other than Ren could make him certain of that was not something that the Yami-ou wanted.
"I..." what did one say to that sort of thing, when the words really held meaning? Tomo had no idea. For all the lying he could do, for all the sweetalking he could muster, he could not find an adequate phrase with which to respond to Oracle. So, he settled for a heartfelt, "Thank you..." and leaned forward slightly, pressing his lips against Oracle's tentatively.
Normally, he would never do such a thing; cheating on Ren was something he would never condone, despite his nature in the past.
However, Tomo felt that somehow...Oracle had earned this kiss. This one that would be the last between them. Tomo would never feel as strongly for Oracle was he did for Ren, and this would be the parting goodbye, the official farewell to any possiblity of a relationship. Oracle had known that this had been coming, Tomo knew, but announcing the possibility of a child must have hurt, at least a little, to the man who had been "unofficially" with Tomo for such a long time, for someone who had offered to take care of his children, despite suspicion; someone who had loved Chiyo almost as equally as Tomo had, despite jealousy...

Oracle allowed that one last kiss he would ever again get from Tomo to be one of the few memories to be kept within his psyche. Afterward, he was not saddened at the fact that he would never again be graced with one of Tomo's kisses, but was happy that he was able to help out his very close friend in any way. So he smiled as he continued to lean his forehead on Tomo's. "Your welcome," he said. "As long as your happy, thats enough for me."
To see if he could comfort him more, Oracle went behind Tomo and wrapped his arms around his waist as the two sat on top of the roof of the skyscraper. He placed his chin on Tomo's shoulder and nuzzled his face against Tomo's, trying to set an intimate - yet friendly - mood. They were conveniently placed to where Oracle could still watch Shadow and still stay inconspicuous. "I don't think I ever got a chance to hold you like this before," Oracle joked, chuckling softly.

While Tomo was sure that this was a nice feeling, being cuddled up with a friend, he was still unsure about how Ren would feel about ths excursion with Tomo. Sure, hugging was better than kissing him, but still...
To Oracle's comment, Tomo snickered, "I don't think you were ever not being a bastard, either."

Oracle chuckled to himself. "Touche'," he said selflessly. "But, you know better than anyone, Tomo. People have the possibility for change." He then looked at Tomo before burying his face in his neck. "Do you want me to change, Tomo?" he asked.

Tomo jerked--only a little, not enough to pull away from Oracle--just enough for the other man to know that he wasn't really confortable with this new position.
"...Whether you change or not is not my choice," Tomo said, the way that he felt about the choices of other coming to the surface; he was being dead serious. "...just make sure that you're not in my way if we're not going to see eye to eye. Other than that, do whatever you want."

Oracle nodded before he rested his chin on Tomo's shoulder. "Fair enough," he said. He continued to look at the location at hand. "Tell me, love," he said. "Do you see anything?"

Tomo sighed. "...I'm not really paying attention..." he said, and he wasn't--the sensation of discovering a true friend was much interesting, he thought. "Is there something I'm missing other than Shadow...?"
