Rain (Shadow;Runa)

[Akuma Shadow]

It was, like any other day he came here, rainning. It was a light rain shower but he was getting tired of it always doing that where ever he went. This time in Tokyo, Japan.


Shadow stood there at the Meiji shrine and waited for her, in the rain.

It always seems to rain he thought when ever I went there for some strange reason.

He had always questioned why it rain so much but this day was not for such questions.

Today was going to be a good day, he could feel it. He just wanted this mission to go smooth, hoping that it was not going to backfire like all the other ones. No, he wasn’t going to take anything from anyone, well not physically all though that would go nicely as well. So he waited for her, in the rain in front of the shrine and hope for the best. yes, he was there for a job but it was also of personal intress as well. He was happy about this day.

Runa ran as fast as she could to the shrine where she had been supposed to meet Shadow; she was late, knew that she was going to be late even as her parents debated about why she was paying with their money for a trip to Japan that had nothing to do with work.

Because Shadow wanted me to... she had thought at the time, but she was smart enough to know that the reason wouldn't satsisfy her family. While she worked for the Devil Saints by their command, they also expected her, as an employee of Shadow, to be a guest--and therefore, they expected Shadow to pick up the tab on everything.

After arguing with her parents for an hour and missing the first flight she had originally booked, she was almost forty-five minutes late. She knew that Shadow wouldn't appreciate this, but she was happy to see him just the same, breaking into a run at the sight of him.

The sound of feet hittting the ground and coming towards him made Shadow turn aroung to her.

"Runa..." he let her name escape her lips and he smiled.

Not to ruin this moment but... Rage's voice popped into his head, ....isn't she late? Shadow ignore the comment and just smiled.

Shadow had met her when he met her parents who wanted her to work for the Devil Saints, he forgot why, but he could remember not taking his eyes off of her.

"You're going to get wet running like that!" he shouted.

Runa honestly couldn't care less about Rain water, and she thrust herself into his arms, unable to keep the smile from her face.

"How are you?" she said, rubbing her face into his chest. "I'm sorry I was late..."

[Akuma Shadow]

Shadow patted her on the head, "Don't worry about it. Besides, you're here and thats what matters." Shadow hugged the women tightly.

He let go of the girl, took her hand into his and said "Let get out of the rain, we could go get something to eat, if you like?" he smiled and look back at Runa.

Nice peice of ass, Shadow.... Lust snickered

Shut up... he shot back.

[Runa Lisger]

Runa smiled, her eyes sparkling brightly as she blushed. "Yeah, let's go! It's on me..." she said, happy to do anything that would make Shadow happy.

Runa neglected to tell her that this was sort of a business trip as well. She needed to get some information from this area...about a particular Human who now ran the Yakuza. The previous head had been Ishii Shoko, which had benefited her family because he had nothing against them; this new one...she didn't know anything about him. It was said that he had never shown his face outside--he had always operated through someone. If he went out to eat, he waited in the car; if there was a hit to issued, he did it from his desk...

Still smiling, she skipped as she followed Shadow inside.

"So, your flight went well?" Shadow questioned as he entered the restaurant that was aptly name 'The Good Spot'. The place it self smelled good from were Shadow stood in the rain and well

It's better then nothing... shadow thought as he put his hand on his stomach and it growled in response.

You should have ate before you left, Shadow.... rage told the Bara. "Don't worry, I'm fine....sort of" Shadow whispered as he showed the young women to her seat. Shadow sat down as he gave a sign to the waiter to come to them.

[Runa Lisger]

Runa clung to Shadow's arm the whole way, smiling as he inquired about her flight. "Yes. Besides the small delay I had, everything was fine. I wish that I had eaten a bit before, though...how's work going?"

For the moment, she was just content to be like someone normal for a change; eating in a restaurant with her boyfriend like any other girl. It made her feel surprisingly special.

As she sat down next to Shadow, she pulled a menu to her with her free hand, wondering what kind of foods they would offer at a restaurant with such an obvious name.

Well... Lust said

Well what? Shadow said back.
You gonna ask her or what? Rage now asking the Bara.

I got to find the right moment... Shadow said. The facts were this: The Devil Saints housed a few of the people there at the main Branch building, with him and the other three head hanchos there. he knew that Runa was still living wit hher parents and he knew for a fact that Runa wanted to be with him. He found a way to fix that and that way was to have Runa live with him at the main Branch building.

"You Rang, sir?" a light voice took Shadow away form his thoughts and the young leader looked up to see a female with a smile on her face.

Shadow was a little confussed but remember that he was in a restrant

"Oh, Right. The lady here will go first."

The young women gave a big smile, "A Gent in the building." Shae gave Shadow a wink, "How I would love to eat you up."

[Runa Lisger]

Runa bit her lip to contain the growl that almost surfaced; she couldn't let herself be angry at this...this...kitchen girl. She was a Human, after all, and if Runa set upon her...she would probably end up dead. A youkai against a Human was not fair, she knew.

Viciously, she said to the waitress, "Well, he's already dining with me, thank you." Then she added sweetly, "and I want to order a Clam Chowder soup with a Filet Mignon; I would like my meat well done, if you don't mind, and with a clove of garlic to add some zing to it. Thanks."

Ouch.... lust Said with a gleefull voice, I felt that fire...

Shadow could agree to that statement at least and he nodded. The young waitrest kept her smile but shadow could tell that she was angre as well. The bara cleared his throat and said "I just want a bowl of Clam Chowder soup and some rolls,please?" he gave the women a nervous smile.

The women gave a hmpth and left to the kitchen. Shadow gave a sigh of reliefe and turned to Runa.

"Runa, theres something that I have been meaning to talk to you about. Something that's dealing with us."

[Runa Lisger]

[sorry that I took so long. My sister was in the hospital and I had to go get her.]

Runa was happy with her handiwork. She managed to get the waitress out of her hair without killing anyone, and Shadow seemed to be okay with the way that she went about it.

Then he said something about some news concerning them. Her ears perked, and she longed to be in her half form, with her cat ears, to be able to show her curiousness.

"What could you possibly be talking about, dear?" she said, her hand moving to enclose his. In her voice was a warm purr, one that reflected her happiness at being with Shadow.

Don't even start Lust.... Shadow said to his Lustful counter part as the women next to him came closer.

I wasn't gonna say anything... Lust said silently

It wasn't what you were going to say, it was what your going to do that's bothering me. He said coldly.

Oh, you mean something like this.

Shadow's body moved to meet Runa's face. He gave her a smile and then as quickly as he gave her the smile, Shadow kissed her deeply.

I hate you so much right now... Shadow said to lust but at the same time was enjoying this ver, very much.

Runa was surprised when the Bara pressed his lips to hers; he usually wasn't so forthcoming about her--he was a shy type, for sure--but this...this wasn't that bad a change from the ordinary.

As a deep blush appeared on Runa's cheeks she did what any normal girl with any type of common sense would do:

She kissed him back just as passionately, not caring that she was reaching over the table or if they other patrons were looking or anything. There was only Shadow in front of her, and that was all that she needed.

[Sorry I took so long, I have finals this week...]


Shadow knocked over a salt shaker to grounnd, causing a hard clinking noise that made the other customers to gasp with shock.He was a little surprise that Runa did that but it wasn't to say that she wouldn't. He knew all to well that Runa was very good when it came to showing her love to him, even in public. Shadow broke the kiss, fixed his clothes that were wrinkled up, and blushed slightly.

She's a good pucker-uper, huh.... Lust said with a slight laugh.

Shadow couldn't help but smile at the comment. he quickly clear his thoat and looked away because unlike Runa, he was the shy type. Well....most of the time.

"Runa," he said softly, "I would like it if you were to live....with me."

[Runa Lisger]

Runa smiled widely; Shadow asking her that question made her so happy. But then, just as suddenly, she frowned. Her brow furrowed as she thought to answer, and wasn't sure how she would phrase what she had to say. She wanted nothing more than to live with Shadow. But then...but then...

She opened her mouth, her expression neutral now, and she said, "I--"

CRASH!

Without any sort of warning, a large black hummer crashed through the wall of the restaurant, and Runa's pupils immediately contracted to those of a cat, fangs beginning to protrude and ears beginning to sprout from the top of her head. The Humans that had not been hit by the car were panicking, running in every which direction, and throwing tables, pushing past their own, and rushing to the door in abandon.

Runa looked around, to the tinted windows of the car that she could see through clearly. A dark skinned man with glasses was driving, the glasses attempting to hide his eyes. In the back of the car was a large man, one with sunglasses on as well and a sinister smile.

Runa growled, her teeth forming an expression that looked akin to hunger. She turned to Shadow. "We have to stop him!"

THAT RIGHT WING ASSHOLE! Shadow thought harshly as he saw the man with is smug smile.

Who in the hell he think he is?

Shadow rose out of his seat, his right hand in the form of a fist. His eyes started to glow a deep color red.

Lust coughed, Rage, he said quietly, I'm guessing this bit of anger is your doing....

Nope.... was all he said as he continue to watch through the Bara's eyes.

"YOU!" Shadow's voice grew into a roar as he took a step forward, "What give you a right to do that, to innocent people. You could have killed someone!"

The man just stayed in his Hummer with that smile on his face and said not a word.

"WELL!" The Bara's hand's became inflamed with a green and black fire.

He's pissed.... Rage thought in a surprised way.

You really are not doing this, huh? Lust said.

"GET OUT THE CAR!" Shadow shouted as he ran toward the vehicle.

[Runa Lisger]

The Restaurant was almost empty of citizens now, and so the whizzing that sounded only for a second in Runa's ears was clear, and taken very seriously. Shadow was running towards the car and the driver had tossed a small grenade, barely visible in the carnage of the cafe, in Shadow's direction.

Runa sprinted. With her youkai speed she was able t reach forward and grab Shadow's arm, pulling him back just in time for him to be out of the range of the explosion, although debris that had been blasted back up into the air was falling heavily on top of them.

Her ears--and she was sure that Shadow heard it too, because it was loud--a screech that was surely the car pulling out of the building and onto the street.

"Damn," she said, but she wasn't going to risk her or Shadow's life on the whim of chasing the vehicle. They would be okay...

[Akuma Shadow]

IDIOT! Rage shouted in Shadow's mind, You could have got us killed!

"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Shadow yelled in the emptyness of his mind, "I don't need to hear it from you of all people, RAGE!"

Fine, fuck your-self up for all I care.... Shadow's mind went quite and he looked at Runa with a very fake smile. He then sighed and said to her, "What will I do without you?" as he pulled out a red and black cell phone from one of his cargo pants pocket.

Pressing a button on it he said clearly:

"This is Akuma Shadow here in sector 1590. I'm with Runa and we got a situation. I need someone to track a black Hummer with a young male waring sunglasses In the driver seat. I also need a clean up crew here, we have multiple casulties at our current location."

THe Phone churpped back
Roger that....



Shadow got up and extend his hand to help Runa up from the debris ridden floor.

Runa heard the call that Shadow made on the radio loud and clear, and she squeezed the Bara's free hand as she was assure by his behavior that he was all right. He couldn't fathom life without him.

"I don't know what you'd do without me," she said, her eyes welling with tears, "Just like I don't know what I would do without you."

He pulled her up, and she sniffed, trying to catch the scent of the two people in the car. Both looked almost exactly the same. Both wore sunglasses. Because of the new Mononoke's physical features, she couldn't tell if he had been posing as the driver just to fool them, or...if the man in the back seat had been the one in charge.

"...please...help..." came a small cry from the debris. Runa looked at the source immediately, her ears making it clear to her where it was coming from.

It was the woman who had been their waitress. Now weakened by the falling debris, Runa could see the ears and tail that indicated a Tora youkai's half-form. She had been one of Runa's own. A youkai.

"I'm going to help you!" Runa said, but there as she ventured closer, she knew that the girl was a goner; the leg of a chair had broken off and was lodged in her abdomen--that was something that wasn't going to come out too easily...

"Shadow, do you know a healer?? Quickly!!!"
