Exodus looked out over the calming grass scene of the American Great Plains. The breeze surrounding him was soothing, and it almost made him wonder why he had never bothered to visit the United States before. He had always been a member of the House of Sadame, anyway, and he supposed that there had never been any motivation to do anything other than what was needed to take care of himself, and that did not include visiting the most wasteful country in the world.
However, he had been asked to come here by the Head of his House--Sadame. What it was that the Lord of the Outcasts of the Vampyres actually wanted was a completely different thing altogether. The Master of the House had taken an interest in him as of late, ever since the party that had been interrupted by the wasteful Angel who had slain a few of his brothers and attempted to "save" the Humans who had volunteered themselves to the House.
In any case, that incident was behind them, and he paid more attention to his surroundings. It was dark all around, but Exodus could look upon the scene as though it had been bathed in sunlight. Waiting while the wind blew, he began to whistle a tune...

Despite the night surrounding them, Sadame could make out the beauty of this location. He had chosen somewhere secluded, somewhere that wasn't populated. He couldn't have people saying that they saw vampires in the streets of the United States, did they? Exodus was there, looking over the grass, right at the time that Sadame had wanted to. Approaching, his usual glass of blood in his hand, he said, "You are here..." He had a few choice words to say to this son of his House, and he didn't give Exodus any time for the respectful greeting that one usually paid to the Master of your House. "When I first met you," Sadame said woefully, "You were in the presence of that woman that you spoke to the House about--Sanada Tomo. She was very coy, enticing even...I pulled you to the side after that, remember, and warned you to detach yourself from her, that you were addicted to her blood. I even went so far as to tell you that I myself had experienced the same thing, that from my own experiences you should learn and obey. You should have stayed away from Sanada Tomo. To make matters worse, I have discovered that not only is she a Celestial, but that she is the King of Hell..." Sadame took a long, drawn out breath to show how upset he was at this scenario. "You come here to see me, like a reasonable servant of their House would. I have not met individually with one of my own for centuries, and yet you find it difficult to heed my orders to stay away from her?"

Exodus was stunned, to say the least. Of all of the things that the head of the House could have wanted to see him about, it was about Sanada? Of all things...
Even the amount of respect that he had in his voice couldn't stop him from laughing at Sadame's words. "I do not mean to offend, but do you not think me strong enough to actually hold my own against a mistress as vile as that? I know her secrets and her weaknesses. She would never let me go, even if I was to try to pull away. And why should I? Your parties of those volunteering their meager Human blood will not give me the euphoria of Celestial blood. I know what she is, and I know that she is the King of Hell. All of this is not new to my ears. And yet to tell me to stay away from her? With what power will you tear from her boiling blood? Her ever-flowing well of crimson life?
"I am not disobeying you. For someone who is not "ruling" their House, you seem to have a lot of rules. I only joined you when you returned because you had been the stuff of legend--I thought that you were going to lead us into victory over the other Houses and that we, as the sons and daughters of the ones closest to Romania would take our rightful place; I see now that you are a coward of sorts, and though you keep us alive that is all that you do. There is no progression.
"Tomo is my progression. If only there were a Celestial for every vampire, then we would all rule the Earth. And you simply cannot see that. I could break away from Tomo if I wanted to, but the fact is that I do not. You are just not willing ot face that you were ripped from your source of food, and had to wean yourself off of it. Tomo does not do that to me. I am too useful."

Sadame could not believe these words coming from someone of his own House. But he would not waste the time that it would take to convince this lad of his point. He was lost, and he didn't think that any of what he had said was getting through--of course it wasn't. He was too wrapped up in the spell of the Yami-ou to care.
"Fine," Sadame said. "Have things your way. Keep your mistress. But she will fail you, and I will not offer my wisdom to help you. I will be going home now, to clean my hands of you and your callow folly. Consider this issue dealt with." Sadame's eyes narrowed, and he said, "Do not ever speak to me or acknowledge my presence again."
And with that he turned away, enveloping himself in a cloak of darkness and disappearing.
