As per usual, rules in this board have been officially approved by Tomo, Mei and Rei.
THIS RULE IS EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY!
There are new guidelines for fighting, regarding the interaction between players out of character. For the In Character fighting rules and guidelines, see this thread.
Out of character rules for establishing a fight [FOR THE MEMBER WHO IS ESTABLISHING THE BATTLE]:
Now, the out of character rules for responding to a fight [FOR THE CHARACTER RESPONDING TO THE PROMPT]:
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT BOTH SIDES KEEP IN CONTACT WITH ADMIN SO THAT WE KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON.
I know that you all know what's fair and what isn't. All disputes regarding these new rules will be settled by admin decision ONLY.
- If you are starting a fight thread, make sure that you send the involved party/parties a PM or an IM--which have to be reported to the admin so that we know about them. Complaints about not having someone reply are not valid if you haven't even tried to contact them.
- Before you start getting irritated because your PM or IM hasn't been replied to, make sure that the person has actually been online. You can check the last login date of the person you're contacting on Kiseki by clicking on their username anywhere on the site. Unless they've sent you a message back, their name appears on the bottom of the Kiseki Home page, or their most recent time of login was long enough ago for them to have respond to you, then you don't really have any reason to complain. The member just hasn't logged in.
- Also, ask the admin if a particular member has asked to take a leave of absence, and check the site to see if they have left a message. It's not fair for you to start a thread for a character that won't be online soon, and then becoming upset about it.
NOTE: - If you've only posted the beginning thread and you've done the above and gotten no response in the allotted time explained BELOW--you should post AGAIN if your first post didn't contain any actions against the other player. Yes, this is double posting, and it might look awkward, but it is necessary. This way, the admin can identify the goings on and see whether or not this procedure is being followed correctly.
Now, the out of character rules for responding to a fight [FOR THE CHARACTER RESPONDING TO THE PROMPT]:
- If you know that you won't be on the site for a little while due to an incident or something you've got coming up, it's your responsibility for you to tell the admin or put up a post about it. DO NOT post that you WON'T be on the site, and then log in later. If you log in after you've reported that you're going to be gone, you'll be LIABLE FOR UPDATES. The exception to this, of course, is if you update your "absence" thread detailing that you were dropping in to check on threads.
- Assuming that you have been online, if someone sends you a PM or an IM--those have to be reported to the admin so that we know about them--and you respond to it, you then have a week to update the thread. If you don't reply to the thread within that period of time, you are required to take the FULL damage dealt to you in their previous post. NO DODGING, SHIELDS, FORCE FIELDS, KEKKAI, ETC.. You just have to take the damage.
- However, don't take this to mean that you have an old character with high endurance, you can just take the full hits and not be affect while not updating a thread. If you do not post in the thread in 3 weeks--which is ample time, by the way--the thread will be closed and locked by admin so that it cannot be updated or modified, and the battle will be considered a loss on the part of your character.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT BOTH SIDES KEEP IN CONTACT WITH ADMIN SO THAT WE KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON.
