Landing on the moon, Kensuke returns from his trip to the Yumekai. He still has the events of his trip forever etched into his mind. Walking on the surface of the orbiting sphere, he looks at the different moon rocks as they are brightened by the light reflecting of the earth. After a few moments of walking he stops by a large collection of moon stones and takes a seat on top of them. Laying back and spreading his legs Kensuke starts to reflect upon his trip, when he is interrupted by his ruling spirit Thomas.
“Still thinking of Azura are we”? Thomas says to him with a grin, totally unsympathetic for what happened.
“No its not that, I…… just…”, Kensuke stops in complete silence”.
“You just what!? Why so silent all of a sudden”, Thomas inquires.
Looking to ground, Kensuke picks up a moon rock and begins to grip it tightly. “I couldn’t win. I couldn’t beat that Fae woman”. Kensuke says to the spirit in anger. “I take it you mean that Heaven Queen right? If you couldn’t beat her you sure fooled me by the way you were acting. Why so down about it now, you seemed to be confident before in your abilities”? Thomas asks only to get another silence.
“……… I am a knowledge seeker as well as a warrior and I was always trained as such from my master. I am to never show fear or weakness in battle to my enemy so and I won’t. I stood my ground against her because I don’t fear any opponent but……….. I could still feel her energy it was one of the strongest I have ever sensed in my time. It was only surpassed by two being I know of and one of them is master Hark. If it was just weapons combat I could have won but more or less that might have been too much to ask for and all situations will not end that way. That fact however does not bother me, what bothers me is the fact she is only the tip of the iceberg. There are many more beings as strong as her and even stronger out there and at this time I know I could not defeat them if I was forced into confrontation. All of my training, all of my work, has it been all for not”? Kensuke grits his teeth as he punches the ground violently causing a small shockwave across the moon’s surface.
Taking on his physical appearance Thomas began levitating in front of Kensuke in a seated position. Looking at Kensuke and smiling he began to laugh. “That is what is wrong with you, pathetic. How would your master feel if he knew all it would took was one strong opponent to confront you and you start to second guess his teachings. If you are the warrior you claimed to be you would not care of their strength just how much harder you have to work to beat them. If you are the warrior I met all those long years ago then you will get stronger and better for the sake of your master and yourself. If getting stronger is all you wanted then I will most definitely push you along the path”. The spirit says to Kensuke as he sticks out his hand.
“You are right, how could my mind even have sustained such thoughts, they are totally unbecoming of a student of Hark and most of all, your master. I feel foolish for having to be set straight by you of all beings but I will take your words to heart”, Kensuke says as he grabs Thomas’ hand and they both teleport off the moon.
Appearing far away on a massive asteroid inside a belt, Kensuke and Thomas emerge from a portal. Looking around Kensuke wonders where the spirit has taken them. “Where are we”?
“We are in an asteroid belt far away from your home on the moon. This will be your place of training for now. This will be the place where you truly master my power as well as your own. For as you know you are quite the rarity among beings for I have had many masters but none were quite like you. You are like no other of your kind and I sensed this from the moment we made our pact. You have much more potential than you know and Hark sensed this as well. We are here to hone your skills to the next level. Here you will be given several challenges to test and build your skill with the Void as well as with mastering my powers. With these trials you will be one step closer to becoming master of the Void. I will leave you briefly to prepare yourself for the up coming trials, I will return shortly with the first task”. The spirit says as he disappears.
Sitting down on the cold surface of the asteroid, Kensuke closes his eyes and begins to meditate to focus himself for whatever his spirit will return to him with.
