Gin sat in his office over looking some important documents. Many concerning the allocation of several large quantities of celestial metals, as well as the proposition to begin the induction of several hundred mages of various Elemental affinities to a secret project the he had been planning for some time. His attention divided between the surroundings and a mountain of documents, it was no surprise that Gin, though immersed in his work, could detect the subtle crawling of a shadow from the door of his private quarters.
"It's no use Kuro, cease this incessant need of yours to catch me unawares." Gin said looking down at his papers, grabbing a letter opener from his desk, and fiercely tossing it into the floor across the room, right into the traveling shadow. "What do you have to report?" Gin asked, now looking at the letter opener protruding from the floor, the shadow it pierced now at a halt.

Stopping as soon as the blade of the letter opener pierced the ground, the ebony pool remained stationary, "There is no getting past you Sir." Kuro said as a black shadowy hand formed around the knife from the ground. The shadow amassed into the form of man, standing now before the Ha-ou, his features becoming visible as he revealed his true form. Kuro stood as an intimidating figure, his armor the color blood, crimson as it shone off of the light in Gin's office as he gently placed the letter opener back on Gin's desk. His mask resembling that of a garish monster, Kuro walked over to the desk of the Ha-ou, giving a salute, standing casually after being told to be at ease by Gin. "I have come to report that Heaven, the second layer specifically, has been attacked by an unknown intruder. Sir, on my reconassiane, I've discovered that apperently all of the subjects of Haruhi have been slaughtered, and the palace has been destroyed." Kuro said bluntly, his feature disguised behind the mask of a demon.

Although Gin would not admit it, Kuro had actually caught him off guard, not in action but in speech. Astonished, Gin set down the parchment he was reading and looking directly at Kuro, the gaze of his dark eyes seemingly pirecing the armor of the Einjheriar, "When did this atrocity take place?" Gin asked, remaining seated.

"It had to have happened recently, when I arrived at the scene the damage was done, the palace in ruins, and all of its inhabitants seemingly killed. I didn't fully investigate the area, I was leaving that for you Sir, as to not taint the evidence that may be present at the scene." Kuro repilied, although instructed to be at ease, Gin stare made him rigid, cautiously choosing his words.

"Thank you for your information Kuro, you are dismissed, go and inform the other Einjheriar to assemble at once. When the proper arrangements are made you will escort an assortment of Kings and myself to the Nisou to begin the investigation." Gin said standing to his feet, his face betraying no hint of emotion, his expression blank and cold. "Even in times like this, the staunch filth that seeks to see Heaven fall will not deter us Kuro, I will get to the heart of this matter." Gin said, walking to the mantle in his office, removing his sword from its resting place. "My divine blade will led us forward, and justice will be served." Gin said removing his glasses, placing them within the confines of his robes, standing their prepared to engage anyone seeking to destroy Heaven further.

Mimiko burst through the doors to the Ha-ou's office, not caring who was doing what when she came in. She was bawling, her eyes soaked in tears and her face covered with them as well. She had been crying for the last thirty minutes straight, when she had gone through a routine check-in of her Layer, only to find Haruhi's palace as rubble to the ground and families mourning their husbands, wives, and children.
It was more than Mimiko could take, and she had burst into tears, headed straight to the Ha-ou to tell him of her discovery. Tsubasa had caught hold of her earlier, but she had managed to wrench herself even from the Sora-ou's grasp to see Gin.
She tried to speak, to tell him of the calamity of the Layer, but nothing intelligible came out. Her words were mixed in tears and sadness and anger and a desire for revenge that had no target.
She fell upon his desk, her tears soaking paperwork and her arms pushing any objects out of the way and onto the floor. And she cried her eyes out, leaning against the Ha-ou's desk, unable to say anything.

Gin watched as the one person who showed him nothing that resembled support at his coronation fell to pieces in his office. Kuro had stealthily exited the room and now Gin and the broken Elder were alone. Gin watched as Mimiko made a complete mess of his immaculate and organized desk, placing his swords inside of the snug grip of his sash that tied his robes together.
Walking over to Mimiko, Gin placed his hands firmly on her shoulders, turning her towards his stoic face, "Mimiko-sama, I am aware of you torment, I am truthful when I say that I grieve with you for the loss of so many, in your own Realm especially.
"But gather yourself, the treacherous vermin who perpetrated this travesty will not go unpunished for their actions, Mimiko-sama please for the sake of those we mourn on this day and all those after, stop this spectacle, gather your composure." Gin said tightly holding the raving Elder close to his chest, his gaze still as piercing as when Kuro first relayed to him the grim news of wanton death and destruction in Heaven.

"Yes," Tsubasa said, entering the office, "let us gather our composure so that we may decide who has committed this atrocity," her voice was choked with emotion though her face was stoic, one hand clenched in a fist while the other clutched in a fist so hard that blood dripped onto the floor from where her nails had pierced her skin. However, she paid that no mind.
She had been surprised when Mimiko had come screaming and going on in the same manner into her own office, and Tsubasa had accompanied her to her Layer to assess the damage immediately.
However, before she could finish a thorough investigation, Mimiko had run off to find Kouzetsu, and Tsubasa, as a loyal friend, had followed her.
"It is awful, Ha-ou," Tsubasa said. She was very surprised that she had not yet gone into a beserker mode as usual. She had been able to keep her emotions in check, and while she was glad for it she would have to do something investigation towards her own nature--something she had yet to find the full information for.
But that was not the matter at hand, and Tsubasa allowed that to sink into the back of her mind.
"We must go the second Layer now...there are families mourning who may be able to tell us something. There may also be people trapped in the rubble of the castle who are still alive. We must hurry to the site."
Tsubasa moved closer to Gin's desk and to Mimiko, placing a gentle hand on her back and rubbing it comfortingly. "We will find the perpetrator for this massacre, and we will give him exactly what he deserves. When I am done with him there will be nothing left!"

"I agree we must leave now, but first I want all kings and Elder notified that they are to report to the Nisou immediately in aid in the investigation. My Einjheriar have been summoned as we speak to aid us , let us take no longer than alerting the others to follow our lead to depart for the Nisou." Gin said releasing Mimiko from his grasp, gently wiping tears from her eyes with a satin cloth from his pocket.
Taking another cloth from his desk this time Gin Took Tsubasa's hand, removing the blood, "Do not fret Tsubasa, this will not stand, I assure you of that, we must comfort the people and not let our emotions dictate our actions. We are the backbone of Heaven, if we cannot stand up to this, our home has no chance." Gin said disposing of the cloth, rubbing his hand over Tsubasa's self inflected wound, using Law to attempt at mending her wound closed.

Tsubasa was surprised by Gin's acts of kindness towards both her and Mimiko, but her face remained stoic. However, because of how urgent things were at the moment, she did not comment, gently pulling her hand from his grasp.
"He's right, Mimiko. We have to go so that you can address your people. You are the Elder of the Layer, and you have to put on a strong face and tell them what we conclude after we investigate.
Tsubasa turned toward the door, grabbing Mimko's arm to pull her away from Gin's desk as she made her exit.

Watching as Tsubasa and Mimiko left his office Gin waited for several minutes until all of the Einjheriar returned and stood before him. "We leave at once, all of you will aid in this investigation, let us depart now." Gin said to his personal Guard as they left his office to commence the search for the murderer of the Nisou's citizens.
