The Canidae Youkai Clans are comprised of all canine species. However, as there are a type of Youkai for every specie of animal in existence, I will focus on the three main groups of youkai that have immerged from the Canidae: - Inu (all types of dogs),
- Kitsune (all types of foxes), and
- Ookami (all types of wolves).
There are many different variants of species even inside these groups, in terms of location, culture, and any number of other different things. However, I will be mentioning general information widely known about each of these three groups, and what is require to create one for listing of a Tribe here.

Inu (Dog) Youkai The Inu group of the Canidae Youkai clan is most known with other subgroups for their anger and war-passion in battle. they have strong will in terms of accomplishing goals battlewise. The Inu, like the Ookami, are ruled by an alpha male or female, with the female being in a rare case. Most groups travel in their animalistic forms, in groups known as packs, breaking form only when they are sure they are alone. Some Inu youkai are content just to be animals, and are actually considered pets for Humans. Because dogs are plentiful in any given area, Inu youkai are found in too many groups, both large and small, to be listed here. They roam together without regards to species. Inu youkai usually only use Fire, Void or Chaos. Each pack only uses one of these elements, and those strays picked up by them must conform and learn their element or find another pack who matches them. This is usually not a problem, however, because there are so many of them roaming different areas. Unlike most dogs, however, they typically don't fight over territory--there's no room to, since most Inu youkai tribes are situated in Human filled areas. Well known Youkai Tribes: To be listed. Requirement for Tribe names: Inu tribes names are usually after weapons. Requirements for group magic: Inu tribe members, as stated above, need to use Fire, Void, or Chaos. If you choose to use two of these, your character must be much better at one than the other, or weak at both (if they're just starting to learn the second element.) *Admin note: to create an Inu youkai group, please PM the admin using the Fork option in the upper right hand corner.

Kitsune (Fox) Youkai The Kitsune clan is a little more picky about species in terms of organization, partially because each type is usually made to survive only in certain conditions. However, it is not uncommon to see an odd-colored fox in a group, as they are very loyal and refuse to abandon each other. That being said, they are tricksters. Depending on their location, they bond with Humans or live with them. They tend to be magically diverse, each kit learning magic from someone they share an affinity for an element with in a mentor-student relationship. In each tribe of Kitsune, there is a "wise one", usually the oldest fox in the group, who guides everyone else. However, Kitsune travel in larger groups than their Inu or Ookami counterparts, and breakdown into families. Well known Youkai Tribes: to be listed. Requirements for Tribe names: Kitsune tribe names are usually after joke or riddle themes, characters, or events. Requirements for group magic: Because of the way that kitsune are, they only practice magics that compliment each other in nature, or make up for what the other one lacks. Because of this, you usually see two types of magic being used within a group of youkai, although picking up a stray from a different Tribe of kitsune can birth the use of a third. *Admin note: to create a Kitsune youkai group, please PM the admin using the Fork option in the upper right hand corner.

Ookami (Wolf) Youkai Ookami are the most famous of all youkai. Also referred to as "werewolves", they permeate Human history and mythology. This is said by the other tribes to be because they meddle too much in Human affairs. Indeed, Ookami are the most embittered toward Humans for their dominance and their actions in the Great Hunt overall. In general, they are raised to dislike or fear Humans for their cruelty. As far as magic goes, each "pack" tends to use two or three elements that work well together for the purpose of hunting, through whatever strategy their alpha uses most often. The Alpha is usually male, although more exceptions are made on the part of ookami in allowing females to go unmated as alpha. Contrary to popular belief, Ookami or "werewolves" do not need Human meat, but they are known for killing particularly offensive Humans, resulting in disappearances worldwide that result in bodies being found sometimes even months later. Ookami don't mind strays so long as they know their place and don't rupture the flow that has already been set in motion. While Ookami break into families like the Kitsune, their families at times dissolves into the whole, where no one is individual and there is only "the pack', led by the alpha. Well known Ookami Tribes: to be listed. Requirements for Tribe names: Ookami tribes names are after Rotations of the sun/moon. Requirements for magic: Ookami use two elements, with one complimenting the other. The Alpha male usually learns a different element from those in the pack, leaving the pack in the hands of the Beta wolf after earning this title. It is also an option to learn another element before challenging the alpha for their position, but there is no guarantee of victory in that case. *Admin note: to create an Ookami youkai group, please PM the admin using the Fork option in the upper right hand corner.
