[This takes place in Abbadon's subconscious after his blackout in "Mission One (Operation: Keep-Away)," located in the Ningenkai]
"So this is it, huh? I'm finally biting the bullet. Of all the things to kill me its a fucking two-person fire spell? What kind of shit is that?!"
That's all Abbadon could say after he closed his eyes inside the halfway destroyed mansion of Miss Tomi McClure after blacking out from pushing his fire magic way past the line. For all he knew, Abbadon could have been anywhere. The fact that he was in a seemingly endless black void didn't really help his self-esteem either. he placed his hands in his pockets as he observed his environment. He sighed and closed his eyes.
"Whatever."
Then the black void faded and Abbadon appeared at a cemetary. The sun was shining just bright enough to throw his sight off a bit. Abbadon turned away to avoid blindness when he saw a funeral being held. He walked over with his hands in his pockets still as he chuckled to himself.
"I guess its only suiting to witness my own funeral," he said as he was about to lean against a gravestone. "Christ, this has been a shitty day."
Right when he came in contact with the tombstone, Abbadon phased through and fell on the ground. An awkward look grew on his face before he stood up and brushed himself off.
"Go fuckin' figure," he said. he then continued toward the group of people and saw the name "Hakaisha" on the tombstone. At first, he wasn't surprised, but then he looked at it a bit closer. It didn't say Abbadon Hakaisha; it said Noel Hakaisha.
Abbadon looked more confused than ever. He peered closer to the tombstone while walking through others, now aware that he could after his little stumble.
"Hey," he said loudly. "That's not me! Who the hell is Noel Hakaisha, anyway?"
He looked behind him to see the funeral goers start to leave but two; a woman and a small boy, who looked like he was angry at the world. The woman knelt down to the boys level, who looked about five or six years old.
"It's okay, Abbadon," she cooed to him. "It's okay to cry for your father."
What the woman said made Abbadon's eyes widen as his mouth hang ajar. He looked at the boy closely to see that he and the boy shared the same characteristics of body language.
"Holy shit," he whispered. "Is that... is that me?!"
The younger Abbadon looked at the woman. "I don't need to cry to show that I miss dad, mom," he said. "He taught me to always be strong and I'm gonna do that."
Abbadon looked at the woman his younger self called his mother in amazement as she stood upright. He reached for her, even thoguth he knew that if he touched her, she would be unaware of his presence.
"M-mom?" he said curiously and sadly.
"I understand, sweetie," she said as tears swelled in her eyes. "I'll let you say goodbye."
The woman left before Abbadon got a chance to touch her. He watched her move farther in the cemetary until he couldn't see her anymore.
"Mom..." Abbadon whispered softly.
"Dad," the younger Abbadon said. Abbadon looked back at the boy and saw his hands form into fists.
"Dad, I..." he closed his eyes and sighed. "I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough to save you." He opened his eyes and frowned.
"But I promise you," he said as he stared at the grave. "I will avenge you. I promise you; Tsubasa will pay!"
The grown Abbadon looked at his younger self with confusion galore on his face. He looked at the tombstone of Noel Hakaisha and sighed.
"Dad..."
Then both Abbadon's attentions were drawn to the left by the crying of a small child. The younger Abbadon immediately ran toward the noise in curiosity. The older one was caught off guard as he chased after him. "Hey!" he yelled. "Wait up!"
By the time Abbadon caught up with his younger self, he saw him peering over a tombstone watching another small boy, crying at a grave. If there was anything about the boy that was of significance, it was his purple hair. The adult Abbadon smiled, figuring out who that could be.
"No way," he said.
The young Abbadon approached the boy with his hands in his pockets. He stood in front of him and waited for him to see him.
"Hey," he said. "Why are you crying?"
The boy stared at the young Abbadon long and hard as tears continued to stream. Blushing in embarrasment, he looked away.
"I'm not crying," he lied as he wiped away his own tears.
The young Abbadon sat next to the purple-haired boy. "You don't have to lie," he told him. "My dad always told me that lying always raises suspicions of ones true feelings and that it's best for you to come out with it fully."
The purple-haired boy sniffed as he glared over at the young Abbadon. He looked at the grave marker in front of him.
"I'm," he began. "Im... visiting my dad."
The younger Abbadon chuckled. "It's a small world," he said. "I just came from my father's funeral."
The purple-haired boy peered at the younger Abbadon. "Do you miss him?" he asked.
"Of course I do!" the younger Abbadon said. "The main thing is to carry out his honor, and that's exactly what Im gonna do!"
The purple-haired boy smiled as he stared at the young Abbadon.
"I'm Shadow," he said. "Shadow Seijin."
The young Abbadon smiled and pointed to himself. "Im Abbadon Hakaisha," he told the boy named Shadow. "Soon, Im gonna be the name on everybody's lips in every single one of these layers!"
The boy smiled at Abbadon a little bit more friendly. "I... always wanted to be friends with someone famous," Shadow said with a blush.
The young Abbadon placed his arm around Shadow's shoulder and smiled. "Stick with me, bro," he said, "and we'll go as far as the eye can see!"
The adult Abbaodn watched closely as he saw both his younger self and the boy that shared the first name of his supposed best friend echo laughter from their mouths. He watched them until he was slowly faded back into the black void.
"God damn it," he yelled. "Not again!" It wasn't until he yelled those worlds until the events that lead him to this place started to quickly unfold. From Tomo, to Shadow, to Arashi; everything that happened to him flashbacked, until a visual of Shadow Akuma looked at him, smiling. And even though he didn't open his mouth, he could hear Shadow's voice utter three words inside his head.
"I need you..."
